Saturday Nights Main Event 3/89 the audio sounds kind of distorted. Not the best audio quality on the Network. Saturday Nights Main Event 5/89 has several edits. They do a fantastic job of editing out Vince McMahon saying "tonight's episode is sponsored by Burger King" at the opening the show with Jesse as you'd never notice it. There are several clips throughout the show of scenes from the movie "No Holds Barred" and all are edited off the Network version. Then there's a couple of Miller Lite commercials that feature Vince McMahon, Jesse Ventura, and Howard Finkel, those are also edited however to be fair those might not be on the original tapes. They also edit out Sean Mooney's Mountain Dew "Slam of the month" which shows a nice 30 second video package to Big John Studd. Wish they wouldn't edit those as those are part of the nostalgia. Obviously they don't want to pay the sponsors or whoever owns their names now. Though I think some fee plugs did make it intact? I doubt they'd have to pay Burger King to advertise Burger King. Come on! They edited it out because they don't want to advertise another companies products unless they are getting paid to.

That and I wondered if including people's trademarks costed money, and it was just a case of certain TMs being more expensive than others.

Surprised to hear that "Bad Company" by Bad Company is still Bad Company's theme on the April 10, 1988 AWA All Star Wrestling. Thought WWE would have dubbed this over years ago, but it's still there. A fan holds up a sign with a homophobic slur throughout the match and hasn't been touched, either.
Speaking of dubbed over music on old school shows, certain episodes of Prime Time haven't been hit by the demo/alternate version of the 88-90 PTW theme. A few episodes still have the original theme music intact.

On the April 1990 SNME episode, they remove Hillbilly Jim's entrance by fading to black after his interview and returning with him in the ring. They actually splice in Vince McMahon saying "welcome back to SNME" from a different part of the show to make it look a commercial was there.

I’m guessing they would have liked to have used the original 88-91 theme but the opening video montage was a different length so they had to make a new theme. I love how on the old primetimes you could just barely make out Gorilla Monsoons voice at the beginning. I’m sure that’s gone with the new theme.

On the November 1, 1986 they actually keep in Dingo Warrior in the ring with Born To Be Wild playing, with the World Class shows editing mainstream music is more convenient since usually the wrestlers with music would come to the ring to music and then they would do the introductions so they can just go to the intros.
On the May 11, 1998 Raw in the segment where Dustin Runnels burns his Goldust costume they leave in the part where a fan yells out you're a f----t Rhodes!

So on Bunkhouse Stampede 1988 they edit out both Ric Flair and Hawk's entrance and there's a note saying that it's in the "Most Complete Form Due to Original Production Difficulties". I have a feeling that this is not true and they just wanted to edit out Hawk's ring entrance where he comes out to "Iron Man"

Flair's entrance wouldn't need to be edited, so the master tape might really be in bad shape at that part.

ECW Hostile City Showdown '94 has the "most complete form" notice. Anyone know why?

Originally on the Network version of Wrestlemania 17 they used Hillbilly Jim's original theme, which surprisingly is also in tact on the DVD version. It has been changed to his ripoff theme.

The Big Show / Floyd Mayweather video package on Wrestlemania 24 was originally on the network but has been edited out.

I'm not sure if this is an edit or not. On the Oct. 4, 1999 Nitro, the segment at the beginning with Sid watching Goldberg in the parking garage has a blatant jump cut. Goldberg is right by his car one second, then is far away from it and walking off screen the next. Did it air like that on the original broadcast?
