So the Olympics inspired me.
Here's the idea:
1: Pick a province or state (No international stuff for now, Team Japan would be too overpowering VS a single province or state...)
2: You'll pick representatives for that province or state that will form your team. The wrrestler has to either been born in the area or have learned their wrestling there. Use common sense on where a wrestler would be more likely to fit. Say Jericho, he was born in New York, but really you associate him with Manitoba.
3: When enough teams are done, we can have a league or tournament with them where we can make matchups and people vote on the winners. I'll handle it.
- You must pick a coach and two assistants, who will be retired wrestlers you'd want as mentors to your guys.
- You must pick 12 active workers: 9 singles men's wrestlers, 2 guys forming a tag team (who actually team up together...) and finally one female.
- Pick a captain!
- Treat it sport-ish. As much as wrestling can be treated sport-ish.
- Try to make it work politically. If everybody in your territory hates the guy you want as coach, you MAY want to have another coach.
Speaking of which...
I'll be the GM for Team Quebec, my home province.
HC: Raymond Rougeau
AC: Rick Martel
AC: Pierre Carl Ouellet
01: Sami Zayn (NXT)
02: Kevin Steen (ROH)
03: Alex Silva (OVW)
04: Sylvain Grenier (TOW)
05: Franky The Mobster (TOW)
06: Handsome JF (TOW)
07: Buxx Bulmar (TOW)
08: Chakal (NCW)
09: Cedric Rougeau (Rougeau Gym)
10: Dru Onyx (Tag) (TOW)
11: Eric Mastrocola (Tag) (TOW)
12: LuFisto (SHIMMER) (Woman) (Captain)
- Explainations.
- I didn't put Jacques Rougeau Jr. anywhere on the team because, politically, half the team wouldn't show up if I did. Raymond is a lot more liked, is Jacques' senior in the business anyway, and will do great as a coach. Martel and Ouellet as assistants was a no brainer, former world champ and former world tag team champ.
- I picked Grenier despite him not being that good or tough an actual wrestler because he has the big league experience and owns the promotion from which most of these guys come from.
- I picked Chakal because I always had a soft spot for him and I'd rather send him in there against a CM Punk or Daniel Bryan to get killed rather than sending in Zayn or Steen and risk not winning a match with them against somebody less popular or skilled.
- I picked big Cedric. Name-value, fourth generation guy, a giant with great athletic abilities... I'm thinking people could vote for him over another guy they don't know just because of that.
- Dru is from the Barbados but he has been in Montreal since he was 2.
- Dru & Mastrocola over St-Jacques & Dubois as the tag team team because they have better name value and if I ever need them in singles, I trust them more to handle it better.
- LuFisto is my captain. She's got the seniority and the respect, she was also the first of us to wrestle in the States from that 1990's generation of workers. She's the innovator and the trailblazer.
So, who do you pick, what do you got? Many places can have good teams, in Canada alone teams in Ontario and Alberta would do good. In the States I'm sure Florida, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, etc... will do fine.
