Has anyone been looking into the stats for this? Or am I just getting the impression that there has been a lot more wrestling and a lot less promo lately? Even the promos and interactions seems to involve less and less talking.
Is this fair? (By all this I mean Raw - I don't watch the other shows except PPVs).

They've decided that the talking and skit aspects don't translate as well to international viewers for a number of reasons.

Where's this story from, by the way? This actually sounds interesting.

I do enjoy wrestling, as probably indicated by my membership here. I do feel that a lot of the talking on shows like Raw do not accomplish what they should. When I see shows like Backstage Fallout being posted among the various extras on the WWE App, I believe there is more they could do with growing each on screen character. Big E rarely gets to talk on TV and we mostly know him here for his online antics. If they could parlay some of that into the show while maintaining the current wrestling quality, I think it would make for an excellent balance.

Then again, when more wrestling = more of the same matches/the same people facing each other, week in and week out, and more of Bryan killing himself in two or three matches per Raw for little to no reward, it all tends to feel like WWE spinning its wheels and filling time, and it doesn't really make for compelling tv.

Which is weird because Road to Wrestlemania time features way more talking then wrestling. But they are doing a decent job in progressing stories and feuds with wrestling matches lately.

I've got no real problems with this, if it means less stupid skits and "funny" Cena promos I'm all for it.

Cena also seems to be acting a lot more serious. He didn't really mock the Wyatts or do his silly stuff he just called them out for a fight and got battered.

Not to mention guys not being allowed to show their personality when they're capable of more. - Big E should be more like his Twitter self. - Dolph Ziggler should be more like his Twitter/Ask The Heel/Download self. - Cody Rhodes should be more like his JBL & Cole Show persona. - Alex Riley should act the way he does on commentary...minus the commentary part. "More wrestling, less talking" just seems like a contrived way of saying "Only certain people are allowed to get over as characters".

I know you love the guy but man, I really look forward to the day Riley is gone from the company. The guy is finished wrestling in WWE and everyone needs to just kinda move on. :/

I think it's a good idea. Yeah you need time for talking as well, but I've always believed that if you show well in the ring the crowd will get behind you. Incredible charisma can hide a lack of in ring skill but if you can't go at all in the ring, the crowd will not get behind you.
Again, it's no coincidence that guys like Bryan, Punk, The Usos, and Cesaro have been getting over.

I find there is too much wrestling now and it's made raw pretty boring. I watch Raw for promos, skits angle advancement etc and watch PPVs for the matches.
