So do we just automatically disregard when devs say things like "This is a brand new character we made w/ help from Geoff Johns"? The Arkham Knight itself is an original character. Whoever is wearing the suit is another matter entirely. If it was just Joe Schmo why would they go to all the trouble of hiding their identity? And why are Rocksteady so evasive about who they are? I concur with everyone that the Arkham Knight better not be the f***ing Joker. Though it is worth noting that in the Arkham City comics set after the game (which are canon) Gordon had the Joker's body cremated out of fear that someone, like Harley, would attempt to steal his corpse. A corpse which, with Batman's help, was positively identified as being the Joker. So that rules out resurrecton via Lazarus Pit or other means or the Joker somehow faking his death. I'd say Jason Todd or Azreal would be the best bet. I'm leaning toward the former, thinking this is Rocksteady's version of Under The Red Hood but who knows.

I don't think the Arkham Knight is Jason Todd, if only because there is separate Red Hood DLC for this game which evokes the Jasod Todd version of the Red Hood character. Why have DLC for a character who is also another character in the main game? I didn't realise the Red Hood DLC was actually story DLC. Well bang goes that idea.

Part 2. Doesn't really show much of gameplay, but it does show the Batmobile being a f***ing boss. Although why we got a "Part 2" if it's just a minute and a half long is explained that the conclusion of said trailer will be revealed at the PlayStation Experience this coming Saturday. Which means a few questions. Most notably, is there something that will be revealed on Saturday? Or maybe it's just Sony buying the rights for first-come exclusivity a'la Destiny?

So do we just automatically disregard when devs say things like "This is a brand new character we made w/ help from Geoff Johns"? If I've learned anything about Rocksteady it's that they are masters of misdirections and get their kicks from messing with the players' brains. And with the new main villain being Scarecrow, they sure as Hell aren't going to restrain themselves. This brings me to another theory. Since the main villain is Scarecrow, what if the Arkham Knight is an hallucination, maybe even the whole game being one? He could be a manifestation of Batman's fear of becoming what he is trying to fight.

Unless his goons are a hallucination as well and thats a bit much of a stretch.

I'm not clicking that link as I don't want it spoiled for me and I'm sure I'm not the only one, so I politely request that if people want to discuss the reveal, please do so in spoiler tags.

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. {Spoiler}I actually don't think it's that bad. It's not The Joker and I'm sure the reveal in context will be pretty cool.

{Spoiler}Are they sure they don't wanna go for the "it was all a dream" twist? Cause it's as tired as that one. And DC isn't even that filled with clones. But what's the point of a Bruce Wayne clone when you already have Hush running around?

It does say it's a random post from 4chan as it's source so it's pretty sketchy. but if true... {Spoiler}{Spoiler} I'm not sure if this is as lame or lamer than if it was the Joker... and with the random let's clone Batman... and throw Talia's DNA in too for... reasons... it's almost like they wanted to add Damian but didn't want an actual child running around...

{Spoiler}I wonder if this is them trying to set up for a Batman Beyond inspired game? ...They basically just used Terry's origins...

{Spoiler}If that's the real deal... It's dumb. Really dumb. That doesn't even make any sense with what has been setup so far. It's a Russo swerve.

I'd put $5 on this: {Spoiler}They thought it was Batman's DNA, but it was actually the Joker's. So the athleticism and ability is Talia. The insanity and ingenuity? Yep.

I mean... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}I don't see what's so dumb about it, really. What are better options? Joker, Ra's, Deadshot would've all been worse options.
Hush would've made sense if you ignore that he doesn't have much hand-to-hand fighting ability, nor the money to give himself such high tech toys.
Same with Azrael in the money department.
They've been doing something of a slow burn, more so in City, on Bruce getting older and getting too cynical & apathetic. That he's seen alot of things, and had to do alot of things. Much like in the Timmverse when this was the case, it makes sense that someone like Waller would want a "Batman" always around in case Bruce hung up the cape and cowl.
Also the Titan Formula has been a plot point in each of the games, so it makes sense that it would again play a big part in the story.
Honestly, I feel like pretty much any reveal short of Jason Todd maybe would've disappointed somebody. And, they couldn't really do that if they plan on a Red Hood DLC for this game.
Didn't really think about it till now, but the Arkham Knight's outfit does look alot like a more "modern" version of the Beyond Suit too..

{Spoiler}Actually, since he has the backing of the Order of St. Dumas, you could cover for the money problem for Azrael. Could have gone for Prometheus if you wanted a take on a younger, evil Batman really.

And, you have a point with Prometheus too...just that...Prometheus is freakin' lame. Least I've always thought so. Potential in the character idea, yes, but everything else is just blah.

It's just that evil clones don't really sound a lot better and I'm tired of Jean Paul Valley not getting recognition. It's like DC are doing what they can to completely ignore him and Cassandra Cain completely.
