Name some moments that the WWE tries to make into a bigger deal than they original were.
Off top I can think of Hogan slamming Andre. I knew it was huge but come on now.

Triple H's career, guy was over and a capable performer, but never at the level he's been portrayed as being.

DX Invasion of WCW. It was the turning point of the Monday Night Wars. I would say most of what DX did in general has been made out to be much bigger then it really was.

Hogan slamming Andre WAS a big deal.
The DX thing was a comedy segment, filled with insider references about wanting to free Hall and Nash from WCW. Certainly wasn't the huge event WWE makes it out to be.
I agree on HHH's career. They always tack his name onto every list of all-time greats.

Most PPVs, specifically the Raw after where Michael Cole welcomes us "after an incredible night at _________". I think he said it after Battleground last year.

Any time they have a multi tag match RAW main event. It's always the biggest main event ever.

meh match. federation talent paper thin so the belt essentially fell to shawn michaels. Arena wrestlemania not even sold out. Many visible empty seats. wwf would continue economic downturn during his reign

John Cena vs. Randy Orton: Biggest Rematch in WWE History More than that, sometimes they act like Cena/Orton was the greatest, most important feud of all time. It was....not. I'm struggling to think of anything it actually did, and the best I can come up with is.....Cody Rhodes occasionally gets close to getting some kind of push, and he was...peripherally related to that feud.

Going to have to chip in a vote for practically anything involving John Cena and Randy Orton feuding. I seriously don't remember anything from any of it, beyond Cena's dad getting wailed on a couple of times unconvincingly in a vain attempt to generate heat.

Rock/Cena ONCE IN A LIFETIME!!!! (til next year)
wasn't there also one with either HHH or HBK where they were trying to create a "spontaneous" chant supporting whichever one it was from the crowd after some match a few years back (don;t even remember when except it was a PPV), because it happened a PPV earlier and they wanted to recreate that "magical" moment. they just stayed in the ring staggering around a lot longer than was necessary and never got the crowd response they wanted. want to say HBK got it and they tried to recreate it for HHH and it fell flat. but it could have been HBK too.
good thing this was limited to WWE though, cause after all every week was "the greatest night in the history of this sport." over in WCW

DX Invasion of WCW. It was the turning point of the Monday Night Wars. DX invades Nitro. "Three years later, WCW was out of business"

They did the staredown that Austin and Rock did in 2001 that got a huge reaction, but you could hear a mouse fart with how quiet the crowd was for Cena/Orton. I'd say the initial staredown between Taker and Triple H. Complete with having the roster talk about how pumped they were for the match EVERY. DAMN. WEEK. This isn't a knock on Triple H (who while I'm not a huge fan, between 99 and 2004 he was awesome in the main event role), but that was just so dumb with the hype.
