I'm trying to think of SOMETHING that he can call his definitive WrestleMania moment, considering he's been a main event star for years now and I'm drawing blanks. I'm going to list them all out to help me better analyze his wrestlemania career.
20: Handicap Match...um...nothing. 21: Maybe that reversal into an RKO? But I doubt that spot's big enough. 22: Lost a World Title match in a moment that belongs to Rey. 23: He was in MITB...I vaguely remember him going RKO crazy, but like 21, that's hardly MOMENT worthy. 24: Forgettable midcard WWE title match; punt finish was cool though. 25: Ew. 26: That Triple Threat with Legacy did nothing but bury Rhodes and DiBiase. 27: RKO'd Punk in midair...which might be the closest we'll get, but only because it was recent and they show it so much. 28: LOL losing to Kane. 29: I don't think fighting with Big Show is a moment. 30: Losing the title to Bryan is like losing to Rey; it's not HIS moment. Hell, it's not even his FEUD.
So yeah...I mean I guess the best moment he has is that RKO on Punk. But that only sticks out because it was a decent spot in a decent match on a mediocre show. Poor guy.

Being lucky enough to even be there, despite not being over, no matter what they try and say.

The Undertaker match is the closest he's got to one.

Wasn't there one that had a special thing for his pose? That one.

I always thought him officially turning face and doing his pose for the first time in a year or year and a half or so at WM26 was a moment

I don't think Orton needs a "WrestleMania Moment". At this point I don't think it would fit his character.

The chokeslam to RKO reversal is his definitive WM moment in my opinion.

The double team DDT to Dibiase & Rhodes, the scan of the audience, the cheers, the pose, the pop. Wonderful moment in a dull Wrestlemania. Though sadly not a wonderful match. Three very talented performers who've since been shown to have chemistry with each other, crappy meaningless match. That made no sense since DiBiase and Cody never actually split, just come Mania they suddenly hated each other.

Being lucky enough to even be there, despite not being over, no matter what they try and say. Face Randy would get huge pops, sometimes the loudest of the night. Of course that didn't translate to ratings. Always found that odd that crowds always popped for him but TV audiences didn't care.

Yeah, I honestly don't rate Ted too highly BUT they had moments in the Legacy faction where they should have pulled the trigger and had Ted or Cody obliterate Orton. Instead of waiting, making Cody & Ted duller than dull, and having Orton be the face. I like Orton as a good guy but...eh, what could have been... It's one of the strange reasons I liked masked Cody having Ted as his disappointing ally. Then again...despite having an angry Ted having some fan support when Ted turned face, Cody still beat him on PPV. I do wish there were more choices based on fan reactions at the time.

It would have to be when he retained the WWE Championship at 24. I know it was a midcard title match but its still the WWE Championship

I always thought him officially turning face and doing his pose for the first time in a year or year and a half or so at WM26 was a moment Yup, that was it. Which is really not much, considering he's been a main eventer for 10 years now. I still think he should've beaten Triple H at 25, despite being the heel. But that would imply Hunter looking vulnerable, and we can't have that.

I personally think, if they must have had the DQ stipulation, the match should have eventually turned into Orton managing to goad Triple H into snapping and just straight up annihilating him, maybe by laying out Stephanie again at ringside or something. Could have had an ending where Orton was a bloody, broken wreck leaving on a stretcher with Rhodes and DiBiase with him, while holding up the title triumphantly (like Rock at Mania 14), while Triple H still gets the moral victory by way of making Orton pay for everything he had done and deciding sacrificing the title was worth it to get proper revenge.

This 'Wrestlemania Moment' bullshit has got to stop. It's something created by WWE, as if it's a thing they book, but the vast majority of Wrestlemania Moments happened organically. Sure they happened due to WWE booking, mostly, but not because they wanted a 'Wrestlemania Moment' but because it fitted the storyline.
The 'reality era' has really made it f***ing impossible to really appreciate a wrestler who isn't handed everything on a silver platter. Orton has very rarely been the #1 guy, almost always the #2 guy. He's the modern day Triple H, behind Cena's Austin/Rock.
Not everyone HAS to get a 'moment,' and if every Mania is crammed with 'moments' then suddenly NONE of them are special.

I have to go with WM24 here. There was no way he should have left that match with the title when he went against John Cena after his miraculous return and Triple H in face mode.
