What is the purpose of this persona? Jeff Hardy is way too established to be repackaged into a new gimmick. Yep. This is El Matador-level idiocy. Remember when Garth Brooks did an album as Chris Gains? I want Chris Gains to kick Willow's ass.

This is the dark side of Hardymania... soon there will be a mystery third man in a main event match... and then, Hardy will lead a new NWO!

It's one of the benefits of being essentially out of fans - they can pull stunts like Willow (and the neverending Joseph Park saga, as Shark pointed out), because who's going to notice? The 75% paid models/theme park attendees who make up the taping audience each week?

He shouldn't be a tweener; the promo's screamed morbid heel, that is what he should be. And he should at least wear different ring gear, not just Jeff Hardy's usual outfit and a mask. The way they are doing it just seems really lazy and half assed.

TNA will never admit to anything not working. They will be like JC Penney under Ron Johnson. Just keep moving downward to the point (probably already there for TNA) of experts citing going out of business. But unlike JC Penney, that did have a board of overseeing directors who did care that the company was crumbling, there doesn't seem to be anyone who puts that thought into TNA.

Does Jeff even realize that he's Willow? Can the two communicate?

I don't know what's less interesting than plain vanilla Hardy? At least Willow adds to intensity but Jeff has a gift to be a heel and his body language, promos and act all have flavor when he plays a heel. Antichrist Jeff was his best gimmick as far as the intrigue goes.

I'm obviously in the minority here but I'm liking Willow. Haven't really been a Hardy fan in the past but I'm digging this over-the-top loony deal.

This gimmick makes me cringe to near blindness. I struggle to watch him behave like that. Is it just me getting old?

What needs to be taken into account is that the Hardy's should almost never be allowed any say in nicknames or presentations for their characters.
That's what gets you situations like Willow and "Angelic Diablo".

I don't really mind it. He's kind of corny, but it's Jeff Hardy being Jeff Hardy and sometimes you just have to let a star do what they want.
I'm not sure how it "doesn't work"? I can see people saying they don't like it, but some people like it. Oh I get it, if a few internet critics don't like it, then everyone must not like it.

"Jeff Hardy being Jeff Hardy" is exactly the problem. He's the same performer, the exact same performer, just....in a mask. The same clothes, the same moves, the same shitty self-made theme, the same everything. If it were actually something different, maybe I'd be more willing to give it a chance.

As long as they see some money in Hardy, they'll admit nothing.
