This is either Sheamus just realizing how the business works (jobbing to HHH => insignificance) or a confession from a former World Heavyweight Champ that the WHC title (which he won 2 years later, to a HUGE pop) really was a pointless strap of tin. I have zero recollection of this match happening. It was like 2nd or 3rd on the show a couple years ago. .......shocking that HHH allowed himself to be placed so low on the card.

I wish so much that Sheamus could have been the corporate champion instead of Orton. It'd be so wonderful to have him and Bryan getting barged off the card once, sent out for 18 seconds another time, then finally getting to face each other in the actual main event in a huge Wrestlemania moment at the conclusion of a storyline.
(And the wrestling would be much better along the way.)

I think we'll see Authority heel Sheamus vs Bryan for the title within the next year but I'm not sure when it'll happen.
Sheamus is the only guy on the roster to have constantly beat Daniel Bryan over and over again and Bryan can't do a thing about it. Sheamus is also more interesting than Orton and honestly Sheamus looks more like someone the Authority would pick than Orton. His moveset is more exciting and Sheamus is more of a brawler than Bryan. They work so well off each other, I mean these guys kill it in the ring together. But I'm not sure when it'll happen. Maybe it'll happen as soon as WM30 is over or maybe it'll happen in the middle of the year. Maybe it'll happen during Summerslam or maybe they'll slowly build up Sheamus's rep as the Authority's poster boy and then when he's a mega-heel we'll see Bryan face him at WM31.
Personally I say let Bryan have the title for a little bit and build Sheamus up as the Authority's poster boy for a year. Have him defeat major faces one by one and then have him gain the title as early as late this year and have Sheamus run down guys until Bryan ends up facing him at WM31 for the belt. Reigns is looked at as a future star so I'd personally rather have Reigns face someone like idk Triple H if they want him to prove himself.
Then again it would be another one of the "Bryan chases the title" storylines we've seen but hey I wouldn't complain.

He's unhappy with his position in the company? Then maybe he should just storm out.

He said he was just going to be patient until his chance came back around. I don't think he'll ever actually get the Mania Main Event and close out the show (unless it's against Taker maybe), but I think Sheamus himself knows that and would just be happy to get a high profile Mania match again.

Sheamus has not mattered at ALL since HHH came back and beat the holy crap out of him. Trips was cutting a promo in the ring, Sheamus comes out during the boring promo and HHH just mauls him as soon as he reaches the ring, was in 2011. Sheamus needs a LOT of repositioning/repackaging if he's going to matter to me ever again. This smiley muscular leprechaun thing he resembles now is easily one of the blandest guys in the E at the moment.

Sheamus is kind of like Jericho or Kane; he is solid enough to drift in and out of the main event when a credible opponent is needed, but he is best for in the upper mid-card.

Yeah, it didnt help being pinned with ADR at ADR's absolute worst, but Sheamus' brand of crappy comedy along with the use of the word "arse" 2000x in a promo didnt help. The Big Show feud at the end was the only saving grace, because then he actually had to knuckle up and show some intensity. His match where he loses the belt to Big Show is the 2nd best of the reign behind Bryan at Extreme Rules. The faux debate promo summed up the whole thing for me, Big Show insisted on being taken seriously, Sheamus blew him off, so Big Show ends up pinning him clean as a whistle.

It's fascinating you mention Big Show, because other than the Orton feud at the end of last year, he brought his working boots to his more recent title matches more often than not. Sheamus has been mentioned, but he also had some great matches with Del Rio, Henry and Bryan during their respective feuds.

I have to admit he idd have a spell where he was a part of some great matches. His match with Sheamus was one of the best matches of his Ive ever seen.
