Just had a significant earthquake just now. Popped my nose really good. Shook the house really good.
Edit: just downgraded to a 5.1

It shook us pretty good in Torrance. It was a nice rolling quake that lasted about twenty seconds.

I live in the East, never felt an Earthquake until that one that struck the Northeast/Mid Atlantic in 2011. Then there was a real small one in late 2012
such an unsettling feeling

Then there was a real small one in late 2012 such an unsettling feeling It's funny, I was in an elevator when that happened. I didn't notice anything, it just felt like the elevator was moving. It wasn't like Saved by the Bell when the elevator got stuck. When I got off I heard people talking about shaking and was clueless. Not till I met my mom and she asked me where was I and that she saw all the picture frames shaking.

Not till I met my mom and she asked me where was I and that she saw all the picture frames shaking. we were on vacation on the Jersey Shore, and I was sitting on the beach and I noticed all of a sudden everything was shaking and thought I was passing out from the heat and not enough water or something. Then I realized "holy crap this is an Earthquake". My dad on the other hand, had been drinking all afternoon on the beach and taking in the sun, got up about 5 minutes before the Earthquake hit to go back to our motel room. He came stumbling back a little bit after and everyone's all freaking out about the Earthquake and he didn't even feel it whatsoever.

I live in the Palm Springs area, and many of my friends felt it all the way over here too...
Looks like my family was the only one in all of SoCal that didn't feel a thing.

Foreshocks for the big one perhaps? Perhaps. It's definitely something that sits in the back of your mind and makes you a bit uncomfortable.
