I know it gets a lot of shit, but the event that took place on April 2nd, 1995 had one of the better main events of the decade between Bam Bam and LT.
Thoughts?

The boards just turned into HHH-ville and somehow this is the wackiest thread currently. This Mania sucked. I was 5 when it aired and it was literally one of the first times I thought there was much more that they could have done with it.

WrestleMania 11 is the most vilified WrestleMania, but to me, you have to consider the circumstances:
they were not operating with a stacked roster compared to other lousy WrestleManias (2, 9, 15).
The choice of arena gives it a bad rap- why not the Meadowlands? Vince already paid the wrestling tax in '89 and LT would have had true homefield advantage?

I don't think there's any way they could have filled it up at that point.

Undertaker vs. Bundy was actually not a bad match.

Undertaker vs. Bundy was actually not a bad match. It wasn't a good match either.

I understand it now- you appreciate WrestleMania XI because it was so bad that we were soon blessed with Hunter Hearst Helmsley's presence so he could save the company that we all loved from going under. Sometimes, it takes the darkest day to bring about the brigHHHest star in the universe. WrestleMania XI= April 2, 1995 HHH's debut= April 30, 1995 Gotta set the record straight, considering who this forum is dedicated to.

Despite it being maybe the worst PPV of all time (worst Mania for sure), I have so much love for this PPV because it was the first wrestling show I ever saw. I was 7 and only knew wrestling from WCW vs nWo on N64 which had just come out and Wrestlemania The Arcade Game on SNES which I rented a lot. I knew a lot of the guys on the show from that game and thought Diesel and Bam Bam on the cover were the coolest baddest motherf***ers I'd ever seen in my life and had to watch them kick some ass. So I rented this terrible show and I've been hooked on this bullshit ever since.

Legit great things about Wrestlemania XI:
- It has, without a doubt, the single greatest music performance in Mania history. Salt 'N' Pepa not only had a HUGE hit in "Whatta Man," but they REWROTE THE LYRICS to reflect the LT-Bam Bam match. Both were legit fans and absolutely rocked the house. If you haven't seen it (as it's edited out of everything), look it up. It's incredible.
- The Purple-Black color scheme is excellent. The nameplates, the design of everything really set Wrestlemania XI apart from the ten that preceded it and gave off the vibe of a new generation of 'Mania.
- Inside jokes in the opening match commentary making fun of the Harris Brothers being IRL neo-nazis.
- The surprise of Yokozuna's return.
- Bob Backlund interacting with JTT.
