JBL's commentary since he's returned has made me quite annoyed on a few occasions, but there's always been the mute button to deal with that. However his comments tonight about King's heart attack still pisses me off hours later. For those who missed it during the Fandango match he made a remark about Michael Cole doing nothing to help Lawler and just watched him dying (if someone has the exact quote I'll amend this), but that is genuinely a horrific thing to say.
It's different to when King makes the remark himself about it, or when it was used as part of an angle with CM Punk. Those bothered me too, but it demonstrates Lawler being ok with making the joke himself or giving his blessing for it to be used. I doubt he'd be ok with this one, as this almost felt like JBL was shaming Cole for being in shock at what happened. It just really irks me, I don't know if I'm the only one though.

I don't think JBL's gone a show since King's return without making a joke about his heart attack.

I don't think JBL's gone a show since King's return without making a joke about his heart attack. The thing is it wasn't directed at King, it's was directed at Cole, and essentially saying "Why didn't you help him?" I think its a shit thing to say to anybody who's been close to something of that nature regardless of when it happened.

If it was anyone else, it would be bad. Lawler practically encourages it. Hell you could hear him holding back laughter while they were going back and forth.

I'm more offended he mentioned the betting site.

It really feels like JBL tries way too hard to be a heel on commentary most of the time, with him going over-board with it a few too many times.

Jeez, it's not like he said he wished King had died from that heart attack. It was a short joke in the middle of a rant aimed at Cole for calling himself a doctor. King, JBL, and Cole know that there wasn't anything Cole could do to help King. Besides, King jokes about his heart attack all the time and I think laughed at this one.

Yeah they're obviously long term friends, and comments and jokes about his heart attack are pretty much a weekly thing.
Lawler had a heart attack on live TV, survived it and is back at his job. Why wouldn't you make light about it?

I don't think this is a big deal at all. JBL is irritating as shit though, and hardly ever makes up for it with good commentary like he did when he first came back.

Without R-Truth on TV so that JBL can sing along with his entrance, he means nothing to me.

I was at a show last friday where matt taven vs lawler was pretty much soley worked around the heart attack. its terrible to say but its almost kept lawler relevant giving him something new.

Kind of off topic but has anyone noticed a slight improvement in Lawler over the last 2 weeks?
He sounds like he wants to be there a bit more and doesn't sound as "forced" as usual.

Overall commentary detracts from what's going on in the ring, which is the exact opposite of what it should be doing.
JBL is the worst offender by far. King is so out of it he's basically barely even there most nights and Cole is trying his best to hold it all together. Thank GAWD he stopped trying to get his own character over and the whole Cole Miner's bit, which was funny for a minute, but lost its appeal pretty quick.

I don't know what's worse, the three of them reciting force-fed lines or them riffing on each other when allowed to ad lib.
