And let me just make it crystal clear. I am NOT upset that the Streak ended. It's who ended it that I have a problem with. I wouldn't have had any problem if Punk had ended it last year, because he deserved SOMETHING after not getting to main event with the title. I would've been fine with Bryan breaking it this year, as part of a test by Triple H. How about Bray Wyatt? I would've been OK with that, too. It's amazing that WWE has caused me to dislike three of my favorite wrestlers(Orton, Batista, and Lesnar) in less than 3 months. Utterly amazing. Orton at 21 Edge at 24 Hunter at 28 Punk at 29 ANY one of those would have been perfectly acceptable.

If true then the way this works in my mind is that ONLY Taker knew this was going to happen. Except, they already had the graphic for 21-1 ready. Yup there's the kicker to it.

So first, we get months of complaining that Brock's looked like a bitch since he came back. "Why pay him all that money to job him out?"
Then he wins at Mania and puts the streak to rest and everyone complains because Lesnar won. This is hilarious.

I'm fine with Taker losing. AFter the 2 HBK matches (and to a lesser extent, the 2 HHH matches) it was clear it was all going to be filler there wasn't much left. Taker/Cena I Quit would have been something, but that would just have ended with Cena "passing out" in Hell's Gate. Only thing I don't like was that it happened after such a crappy match. 3 minutes into the taker/lesnar match I was just hoping they'd wrap it up. Well the only thing to make the Lesnar/Taker match worth anything was Taker losing. It was clear it was time to end it.

I have to say..,. it did make sense with the Manias in the past few years in mind. Taker a guy who's largely battled older figures like HHH and HBK, those as beat up and battered as he was, with the subtle undercurrent that it was getting harder and harder for him to keep the streak going. And now finally essentially in a handicap match against father time and a young monstrosity like Lesnar, and it just being too much for him.

I love it. Because NO ONE saw it coming. I was more sure that Taker was going to win tonight than I was that the sun was going to come out tomorrow.
Some people are acting like Brock raped the Undertaker and shot him in the face. Geez, people. It's just wrestling.

It had to end sometime and I can't think of anybody that's currently around who would have been better.
Besides Kane or something, but that was never going to happen.

I wonder what dumbass came up with this decision? Lesnar...really? Come on...a guy who wrestles less than a handful of tines per year. Idiots. Make a big deal about this thing for years and piss it away on Lesnar?
Stupid. Just stupid.

And partly because wasting it on any part timer is ridiculous, and even Rock would have been more acceptable because he's a legend.

Also, the match was pretty good--which seems to be an unpopular opinion.

It's amazing that WWE has caused me to dislike three of my favorite wrestlers(Orton, Batista, and Lesnar) in less than 3 months. Utterly amazing. Well fact is this doesn't happen if Taker doesn't pick Lesnar to give the rub to. Bottom line, Taker didn't want to job to Punk for whatever reason. He wanted to lose to Lesnar. Now, I don't know if that's totally true. There could be a million reasons why Punk didn't win last year. Sure, it absolutely could be that Taker didn't want to put him over. If that's the case, fair dues. But at the same time, it doesn't matter. There were plenty of other choices who are established, but could still use the rub. Bryan, Bray, Ryback if you wanted to reestablish him as somebody. Sheamus, if you want to get him back in the main event scene. Honestly, I'd have been OK with Cena getting the win, because that's at the very least, a passing the torch moment. Brock didn't need the win.

I'm a huge Taker mark but the reaction to this is amusing me greatly.
The Options were he never lose the streak (Which people were gettign tired of) or he loses it to an up and comer to give them the rub (Who no-one can decide on)
Frankly the shock twist of the monster Brock Lesnar doing it is probably the best choice and stes up a variety of possible stories to tell.

Reflecting on this even more....Lesnar was the right person to end the streak. I know everyone wants Taker to have given someone the rub, but given the way people have been booked, being the streak ender would've almost certainly set them up to fail. No matter what, who ever won the match was going to get crapped on by the audience. Ending the streak was more about closing out the final chapter of Taker's book, and frankly all the crap being flung at someone like Lesnar is fitting. He's a special attraction, he's a guy who, to beat him, you have to throw everything including the kitchen sink at. There is no fear of him trying to spring his career off of this.
