Aside from the tragic accident, It's a odd scenario trying to figure who here gets charged, and with what, their are a lot of hands in this mess, including a 14 who could face charges.

Clearly the 2 year old is a natural born killa.

I still believe in situations like this, if you're stupid and careless enough to forget your loaded gun around children and someone dies... You should face murder charges. Period.

While I truly do appreciate the sentiment of severely punishing someone partially responsible for the death of a child, I cannot agree with this. Leaving a loaded gun around children is an unforgivable mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.

That's gotta be quite the psychological scar for the two year old when it grows up. Eventually someone is going to tell them that they accidentally killed their sister, how do you even start to deal with that.

If I ever owned a gun, my kids would never see it let alone know where I kept it til I was going to train them in gun safety in case if intruders. I'd never forget it anywhere because I'd never take it out.

Why the hell was the gun in the fridge? Who is this guy? Homer Simpson?
Edit: it was ON the fridge. Still a pretty stupid place to put a gun.

If you leave a loaded f***ing gun out in the open around small children and someone dies due to your negligence, you deserve to be charged with involuntary manslaughter at the very least.
Mother also deserves some kind of negligence charge. And the oldest sibling should at least be in juvy.

Surely they can charge the mum's BF for being a total imbecile, because who in their right mind would leave a loaded gun on a fridge where a child could easily find it and then pick it up.

Seems fine. Certainly not an insane gun culture's fault. Nope. Never.

Seems fine. Certainly not an insane gun culture's fault. Nope. Never. Probably gang culture. The police are investigating who owns the gun. If the boyfriend were a legal gun owner who realized that there's a responsibility that goes along with gun ownership he wouldn't have been so cavalier to lay a gun on top of a refrigerator in a house full of children. The gun is likely stolen, the boyfriend is likely either a gangbanger or wannabe gangbanger.
