In the movie Liar Liar (1997) Jim Carrey mentions taking his son to a wrestling event featuring Rick Rude and Randy 'Macho Man' Savage in a "cage of death" match.
Rude and Savage were in different promotions at this point (Rude being retired due to injury) and neither the cage of death match or the company that created it (CZW) were yet in existence.

While this fact is irrelevant due to the fact that these thing wouldn't happen for another two years, but Rick Rude had bee dead for a few months by the time the Cage of Death would come into existance. Also, Savage, in the 14 years between the movie and his death, would never work CZW and thus never wrestle in a Cage of Death.

- Shawn Michaels wrestled a match for TWA in 2000. - The song "Come On" by Dale Oliver has been used for 3 different wrestlers in TNA. Joey Ryan, Sean Morley, and Junior Fatu. - Brian Kendrick is a former WWE Champion. - Despite how many world titles he won, The Undertaker never won the WWE Spinner championship. - Daniel Bryan was supposed to come out of the closet in his 2010 angle with The Bella Twins. - Eddie Guerrero was supposed to face Shawn Michaels for the World Championship at Wrestlemania 22. - Super Dragon attempted to book Kurt Angle to face Bryan in PWG in 2006, but it never fell through.

- Brian Kendrick is a former WWE Champion. While it's a popular meme around here, the only title holders officially counted in a scramble match are the one who starts the match as champion, and the one who finishes as champion.

Incidentally, the only other instance of a wrestler winning a title in a Scramble match but not winning that title otherwise is Finlay "winning" the ECW Championship twice.

Must have been a special edition Director's Cut type deal because I've seen that movie a hundred times (it came out when I was 12) and have no memory of this.

Chris Benoit won his first WWF title nine years before he ever wrestled for WWF Gangrel never had a match at Wrestlemania. -Benoit, as Pegasus Kid, won the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship in 1991, which at the time was a title in a Mexican company associated with WWF. -Gangrel is also a rare case of an Attitude Era guy who never won any title for the company.

Over a five year span, Shawn Michaels beat Davey Boy Smith in matches to win the IC, Euro, and tag titles, as well as eliminating him to win the Royal Rumble.
