One of my buddies is doing this over at another board and I thought it would fit in more over here. Last August my friend Kai invited me to go see the debut show of Showcase Wrestling in my hometown and I have to say I'm glad I went along. The show was somewhat based around a tournament for the 'Caledonian Cup' and culminated in a top quality match between Nathan Black and James Scott for not only the cup but the British National Heavyweight Championship as well, which culminated in Scott getting the win with a little assist from Liam Watson who Black pillmanized earlier in the night. Their next show is leading to a Falls Count Anywhere match between Watson and Black which I am dying to see. Watson can bump and sell like a bandit and Black has such an intimidating look, style and presence that I want the show to come now. www.youtube.com/watch?v=61jJxmqyJdsOn top of this their Facebook page has started churning out some eerie videos, which all I can guess is that they might be leading to some sort of invasion or war angle? It certainly seems that way anyway, though I don't know if they are connected or are stand alone. Maybe some sort of online puzzle? www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PgNYjjIwsQwww.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc58P5Jug2QI have my fingers crossed that they'll at least do something with it at the next show in May, I'm a sucker for long winding stories however I am excited for what this brings. Indy shows I've been to before don't generally run angles or anything so this is a nice change for me. Anyway, enough about my local shows, what about yours? Is there anything going on or rumblings that have you anticipating the next event? Who's on the rise and what are the big matches going forward? Is there storylines, is it all pure wrestling and if so, do you like it that way? Dying to hear what else cool and original is going on out there in Wrestling land, sometimes off the map is where the gold is. If you feel like it give Showcase Wrestling a like on Facebook www.facebook.com/showcasepromotions

I've got Prince Devitt coming to my home town on Saturday for British Championship Wrestling. He's facing off against Kid Fite so it'll be a good match at the bare minimum. Also on the card is Bad Bones vs Joe Coffey and Noam Dar vs Kris Travis. Davey Blaze was supposed to be facing off against Marty Scurll but I think that'll be changed due to Scurll's shoulder injury. Here's the Facebook page of the promotion ----> BCW FacebookOther than that, I consider Insane Championship Wrestling to be my "local" promotion. Can't go wrong with them!

We have Future Stars of Wrestling here in Las Vegas. I haven't been to a live show(but I plan on going someday), but it does have a TV show late Sunday night/Monday morning on the MyNetworkTV affiliate called High Octane. It's actually pretty good. Aside from the local talent, we sometimes get former WWE WCW wrestlers Kevin Nash, The GodFather, Matt Hardy, John Morrison, and Disco Inferno who does color commentary. Here's the Youtube Page which features past episode of "High Octane" and their web show "Lowdown": www.youtube.com/channel/UCdqKACboxLhx0k5ZQFruG_AAnd here's their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/pages/Future-Stars-Of-Wrestling/272458101395

There isn't really a local indy where I live, just a few random shows get tossed together.
The last one I went to was in the next town over (Chester, UK) and the biggest 'name' was Johnny Moss who was billed as a TNA Television Superstar, which was suspect. The card was pretty terrible, but a mean looking motherf***er called Rampage Brown made things interesting (turns out he was in FCW a while back). Match of the night was Johnny Moss vs. a guy whose name I didn't catch, but he looked like an Elijah Burke/Shelton Benjamin mashup and was the best wrestler on the card.
Finished with a battle royale, like all local wrestling shows I go to do.
Edit: That guy from the match can be found here @valkabious90 , he's just signed with WWE.

It's a shame he's been missing from shows up here in Scotland. But I can't remember when he was ever on TNA. Cagematch says he faced off against Jarrett in 2011. Rampage Brown had a cracking match with Mark Coffey a couple of weeks ago for SWA.

Showcase Wrestling are "the dogs baws" actually. I went to the show last August as well and thought it was excellent with some top talent. The next card in May looks much better too and some of the videos they have up at the moment really excite me. If your in Scotland or North England I would advise checking them out. Scotland is arguably the biggest hotbed of wrestling in the world right now with some starts breaking through and really excelling. Good times!

I've got BCW in my hometown and they're pretty good. A lot of TNA talent came out of their school. The past few shows have featured big name talent like Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Guys like Rhyno and Petey Williams are always turning up. And the show May 2nd has Booker T as well a bunch of Japanese stars.
If anyone lives in the Detroit/Windsor area is going PM me. I have no one to go with. My only wrestling friend works saturday nights.

Obviously where I am the company is Squared Circle wrestling (2CW). I've posted threads on here before corresponding to their IPPV's, like the current thread for this Friday night's show. I recommend you check them out if you're looking for a next breakout company since the talent is normally always great and the cards are awesome.

Something called TCW claims to be a New Orleans promotion, but i'd never heard of them before they advertised a "Mid South Fanfest" on this past Wrestlemania weekend, which was held in new Orleans, so I'n not sure how often they hold matches locally. Feel free to correct me if they do-I'd be interested to see them.
In contrast, my former home of Amarillo, Tx, has a growing promotion called Top o' Texas Wrestling. Originally owned and managed by Mike DiBiase, (Ted's son, and Ted Jr's brother) the primary spokesman now is Nathan Briggs. They run weekly shows on Saturday night and emphasize their "kid-friendliness," by not allowing curse words or middle fingers. They seem to be doing pretty well.
Sadly, my true hometown of Memphis, TN has no local promotion that I am aware of. One of the greatest wrestling cities of all time, and the last of the territories to go under in 1996, promoter Jerry Jarrett ran weekly Monday night shows at the Mid-South Coliseum averaging nearly 10,000/show every week of the year, for annual totals of around 350,000 tickets sold. Plus, their weekly Saturday morning wrestling TV show consistently had the highest ratings in town. Not just in it's timeslot, not just for the weekend, but for the entire weekly TV lineup, including the major networks. No other sporting or entertainment promotion in Memphis has ever had anywhere near that level of popularity, not even the Grizzlies of the NBA, or the Titans of the NFL when they were in Memphis.

CLASH Wrestling. Collective League of Adrenaline, Strength & Honor. They are the one indy company in the Detroit area that I really believe could be a "big indy". They are a wrestling promotion that goes out of their way to be different and not just "wrestling". They have characters. Not bad trashy wrestling characters, but cool indy characters like Tommy Treznik. And various notable midwest indy talents come in and out from time to time. MichaelMartini---I live in Detroit. I'll PM you.

Feel free to correct me if they do-I'd be interested to see them. They aren't a New Orleans promotion but a not so good indie based out of Little Rock. They've got a show on Pursuit TV that was barely watchable (I mean that literally, it is like they never thought to turn on any lights) but had a lot of name talent on the shows. It is still listed on the lineup but I don't think the company has done anything since the end of 2013 (other than the Mid South stuff). www.tcwwrestling.com/index.shtml

I live in Lawrence, KS. My nearest Indy promotion is Metro Pro Wrestling, which is based in KC. It is currently not functioning. Adam Pearce, and Stevie Richards are some of the occasional guests. Evan Bourne's brother and ACH also wrestle here.

I once saw the Barbarian(who still looked like a beast) do the job for some short fatass that looks like he had never seen the inside of a gym, much less a wrestling school.

I've always said I need to find a local wrestling promotion... anyone have any recommendations for Central Texas? No idea of any feds running that area. But if you can make it to Houston,NWA houston is good. They have Mike Dell,Barbi Hayden,Jack Jameson and lots of other good talent.
