Didn't see a thread about this, but thought it was a big enough fight to warrant one. After all Dana White announced on Thursday the winner of this fight is taking on Cain Velasquez for the UFC Heavyweight Title in Mexico.
I just watched Browne's fight with Josh Barnett from UFC 168 and have to say I'm going with Browne for sure. The guy's strikes are just too powerful and he has youth on his side.

Was almost the same as the Guillard fight expect this time ended with a choke.

Shit Werdum is schooling Browne wasn't expecting that.

Werdum dominated and dominated in style. Kip ups. Smack talk. Taunt and Attack combos. Made Browne look like an amateur.

UFC hype machine leading up to fight: "Werdum has incredible striking and excellent technique."
Rogan and Goldberg "What the hell is with this great striking of Werdum!?"

Fox telling them to GTFO, no interview for Werdum.
Awesome performance from Werdum, he whooped Browne's ass.

I knew Werdum would win. He's waited a long time to get his shot at the title and he wasn't about to give them up. Very impressive performance although when he faces Cain, he have to pick up his pace in the later rounds.

With a name like Fabrico Werdum, maybe you get a lot of opportunities to surprise people.

Gotta love Werdum's epic trolling.
Makes me wonder if the rumors of a planned Mexican/Latin America version of TUF with him and Cain couching were true.

I honestly thought that would be straight 50-45 across the board for Werdum, but still, total domination.
And I really do think he can beat Velasquez in November.
I talked my mom into watching the first two fights because she saw Cowboy's KO of Adriano Martins, and she was quite happy to see Cerrone score the sub of Barboza. I'd love to see Cerrone face Nurmagomedov next and feel that could be a co-main on any card.
Brian Stann suggested via Twitter that Romero vs. Belfort could be a good next fight.

So... Who saw Werdum winning? Because everyone and their mother were going on and on about how good Browne's striking is, that he'll be really tough to take down if it even happened and that he's part of "a new breed of fighters". Then the fight happens and out comes Werdum like nothing happened and just outclassed a top level striker, took him down and broke his morale. Could this man be good enough to beat Caín Velásquez, though?

I'd love to see Cerrone face Nurmagomedov next and feel that could be a co-main on any card. With all due respect, Nurmagomedov is out of Cowboy's league at this point. It should be Nurmagomedov vs TJ Grant for a title shot and Cerrone vs Jorge Masvidal. That would be an action fight.
