I'm offended that she used to play real football, but now praises that rubbish American type of football.

She's right. Really, the most important skill a wrestler has is getting the crowd to care whether you win or lose. Athleticism is secondary to that.

In defence of her being average in the ring and employed by the WWE, if I saw two smoking hot twin sisters who only knew how to climb in the ring I'd still hire them on the spot.

I'm offended that she used to play real football, but now praises that rubbish American type of football. I am just going to have to point to this and ask: why do some Brits get hung up on football and despise all things NFL? It IS possible for two different sports to be successful and popular, even if they have the same name.

NFL is big in the UK now, it's more the whole "football in the US is almost totally using hands" thing. I think Rugby clubs have "football club" in their names too and that's the same. It's a can of worms.

I get hung up on Americans not speaking proper English in general and calling NFL "football" annoys me, though not nearly as much as "math". Every time I hear "Math" on TV I have to say "ssssss" straight after to make myself less angry. I was also angry during the Orton/Foley "He spit on my face" feud. No he didn't "spit" in your face, he "spat" in your face.

Isn't that what Bret once told Andre to get back in his good graces? I recall Bret mentioning Andre and Anvil and arguing over who were better athletes, football players or soccer players and Bret, knowing where his bread was buttered, said soccer players.

Some people have no idea what hockey is and insist hockey takes place in a field on grass and the other is ice hockey, whereas I'm the opposite. Hockey happens on ice, field hockey is out in a field.

I'm not sure how accurate that was or if it was just someone coming up with something at a stretch to justify it being called football I have no problem with it being called "american Football" but hearing it just called Football angers me, I'm not even really a fan of football

Same as North Americans thinking "soccer" is boring because it doesn't score hundreds of points per game yet the rest of the planet making it the world's most popular sport. It is what it is, lol.

I thought we were up in arms because you don't really use your hands in 'soccer' but I guess not. That's why I prefer rugby. Hands are ok, as well as an elbow if no one sees.

I think it's weird that our 2 nations are so nationally proud of themselves, that it becomes a petty battle of ego when the football/football debate comes up.
