Now, I know this would be a Topic anyway. Payback is in Chicago, there will be Punk chants regardless. But apparently, people are saying and reporting that Punk has agreed to make his return at Payback.
The following storylines are the apparent circulating pitches as to what to do with Punk when he returns:
One way is for the Shield to have a rematch with Evolution at Payback, with the Shield teasing a secret mentor over the weeks before Payback. Punk would end up being the secret mentor and helping The Shield defeat Evolution once again. The other way is for RVD to face Cesaro in a Falls Count Anywhere Match at Payback with Cesaro getting the win and attacking RVD after the match. CM Punk would save RVD and take the fight to Cesaro and Heyman.
Either way, I miss Punk, hope he comes back. I would prefer a feud with Bryan or Cesaro, but if the Shield thing leads to Punk vs HHH, I'm cool with that too.

I highly doubt he's coming back but if he does please no feud with Heyman.
He'd have to have a match with Kane for what Kane did at the Rumble.

Honestly, I wouldn't fight a Punk/Cesaro feud, that sounds wonderful.

He does look much more refreshed than when he left, and he is engaged to AJ and probably in good spirits on that front. I think him coming back is more plausible than it has been, but I hope that if he does, then he is ready.

I'm just going off the last Heyman/Punk feud. I do not want a repeat of that.

I think he's letting his contract run out, but I'd be a happy camper if he returned in Chicago ...and turned heel on Bryan, turning "corporate" and joining HHH and Stephanie. A hypocritical sell-out heel Punk vs. a guy wouldn't sell out in Bryan is money to me, and a good bridge program until Lesnar vs Bryan with Brock winning the belt.

Other. I don't think Punk should come back to a high profile feud. Because then he'd be no different from The Rock or Batista or whichever part timers he was complaining about before he left. If Punk comes back, I think he should work with mid card and lower card talents and work his way back up. Prove that he's the "Voice of the Voiceless" by making the down on their luck talents look good and build their credibility (back) up.

If he comes back, I'd like to see him back as a heel. And feuding with Daniel Bryan as a 'corporate sell-out'.

I've wanted corporate sell-out Punk since before he even left. Bryan and Punk very much feel like the different sides of the same coin. The difference between them is the purpose of which they rallied the people against the machine. We found out that Punk was mostly deceiving us, to sell more t-shirts and to get more opportunities. Bryan seems genuine in his assault against the machine though a man that was once in a similar situation may insist that Bryan had us fall for the very same trick again. Almost every top guy went corporate in some way and at some point, he joins The Authority to show Bryan that he shouldn't be afraid of the inevitable and that there's no use in fighting it.
Looking back, maybe going "corporate" isn't the right term. Moreso every top guy become part of the "machine" or in Punk's own words, another spoke on the wheel. Whilst some chapters of his rebellion was a deception, he still fed the machine, we fed the machine, the very thing we were rebelling against through merch and ticket sales. Though a machine is a man-made thing created for a purpose, it's not inherently evil, Bryan's role against Punk could be a continued defence of his good intentions and the insistence that the machine can be used for good, powered by us.

While I don't think for a second that he's coming back, if he does it needs to be as a heel putting over Cesaro so the Swiss Superman comes out of the feud as a face without Paul Heyman.
Let Punk and Lesnar be Heyman's guys with Punk feuding with Bryan until it's time for Bryan vs Lesnar.

I don't want that kind of turn for Punk. It'd be totally out of character, essentially ruining his legacy. He could just be jealous. That's normally enough of a reason for him to go bad. Edit: Okay. I read Chip's post and it sounds reasonable. But I'd still rather Punk do it on his own - he could still be painted as a selfish prick without the Authority caveat.

Surprise return to attack Daniel Bryan and join The Authority.
Explains his absence as an agreement him and Triple H/Stephanie made. Punk finally becomes a suit wearing, corporate version of himself.
Bryan vs. Punk feud throughout the summer.

You can't have a huge returning main-event superstar come back and feud with jobbers. That would be idiotic. That includes The Rock and Batista. Should he come back and win the title? No, but he should definitely be in main-event feuds otherwise WWE is pissing away money.

Have him come back deaf, as the newz claimed Stephanie originally wanted him to be. Say all the Daniel Bryan and YES! chants damaged his hearing, he took time off to learn sign language and now he's back for revenge on Bryan. It'll bring his career full circle.

Exact shot for shot remake of his entire feud with Heyman, only Heyman is played by Punk and Punk is played by El Torito.

Who are these people who are apparently reporting? Nobody. He's just making assumptions based on the fact that it's June and therefore he could have conceivably signed a new contract to debut at the PPV. But nobody is reporting on this.
