Man, for all the sanctimonious proclamations and hand-wringing by people that sympathize with Punk about how people on the other side aren't listening to their points or are trolls or whatever, take a look in the mirror. It's ridiculous how one side gets to castigate the other so openly and freely. I dipped out of this thread because it's going around in circles and people are responding to points they think other people are making rather than actual points, but seeing all this righteous fury is staggering enough that I had to chime in again.
Also, citing peoples' jealousy of CM Punk as a reason they would disagree with him in this scenario (once again, assuming he feels this way, not just his friend) is tantamount to screaming "HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!" and plugging your ears with your fingers. Could it be possible that people sometimes might disagree with someone not because they are jealous or H8RZ but because they actually just (gasp) disagree over a stance? Apply this mindset to anyone who criticizes anyone else anywhere and watch every kind of debating/arguing/commenting drop into an abyss instantaneously.

People need to stop saying things like "He said he wanted to be the face of the company and on ice cream bars and stuff!" You do get that was part of the storyline right? You do get that he later said he was being full of crap right? See, I don't get this sentiment at all. Wasn't the Pipebomb promo so effectively because it was a worked shoot -- as in a number of things he wanted to say adapted for the storyline? I have no doubt in my mind that a whole bunch of that promo and its overarching theme (i.e., Punk saying, 'I was held down and I shouldn't be because I deserve to be pushed as the top guy') are the truth tweaked for WWE programming.

People are complaining about something Punk expressed to a friend.

Due to the increasingly aggressive and angry tone of this thread it is locked.
