Didn't Sheamus get fined the same thing on TV for something odd, and then he said he'd go out for a pint that night. Ace kept fining him insane amounts for kicking refs. I think he tallied close to $1 million or something. Nowadays people just whip the Miz's ass if he ran in. That whole badass Miz era was good comedy. Awesome Truth was awesome, dammit. I know that people don't like The Miz (hell I don't really), but the shot of him and R Truth with their hands behind their back and the cell raising after they had beaten up ADR/Punk/Cena was one of the best shots of the last several years. Of course, HHH ruined it by punching them in cuffs because he had to look like a super sexy rebel badass.

Money related angles should become a thing of the past anyway.
Hating rich characters like Del Rio doesn't work because the top faces are multi-millionaires and those top faces are tough to buy as men of the people when they're rich too.
I think you can tell by the reaction to the Big Show losing all his money storyline that such angles don't really work these days.

I think Show killed any hope that angle had by crying every week; the poor acting and execution of the whole thing made it more pitiful than anything else. I remember when HHH hit them with that fine, it was like "how am I supposed to believe that?!?" That would be a substantial chunk of change for someone pulling in $10M, definately something that guys in Miz/Truth's bracket couldn't afford.

What's the point of levying a fine that can't and won't be paid.
