The WWE are in town this week and its always pretty obvious when they come over to the UK because various different wrestlers appear on various different TV and radio shows. In my town the Shield are appearing in a huge store to sign autographs, which has been advertised locally and online. I've heard people who don't watch wrestling talking about it. A few years ago Drew McIntyre signed autographs in a Glasgow supermarket and the line went literally right around the entire store.
On the other hand, TNA are touring soon and the only way I know about it is one little poster on a wall on my way to work.
TNA's had a bit of a bashing on here recently, and this isn't one of those threads, its a genuine query of why they don't advertise more. Its the most simple basic fact that promoting your show will bring people to your show, yet all the stuff from above just doesn't happen.
At least, not where I live. Is it any different in other local areas?

The last time they were in Dallas (Slammaversary two years ago) I remember seeing a few billboards and signs at bus stops. I don't know about local radio or TV ads as I don't listen/watch it but I think the local rock station held ticket contests. I remember when Mick Foley debuted and they held a show in Vegas that North Dallas was plastered with ads about Foley and the live show for some reason.

I'll be honest I haven't seen one commercial or print advertisement yet for their Hammerstein Ballroom tapings. Granted it's still what 6 weeks away? I haven't seen anything yet though.

TNA recently hired a marketing firm to get their presence out their more and honestly it hasn't' been that successful. Spike barely promotes TNA its mostly promoting Belator though I think if they put more effort into their advertising they may be in a better spot.

When TNA did Impact in Huntsville this year, they did the usual local tv ads during Raw, a morning zoo call in, and the only billboard they put up was in the seedy part of town.

They are now and always have been horrible at this. I honestly do not know how you can fail to saturate advertise in advance of a show and then wonder why only 125 people showed up.

So they must have put up more advertising about that Vegas show in Dallas than they had in Vegas. In fairness, they advertised their 2012 Vegas Impact a lot better.

Honestly when they were going to tour Australia back in 2009 before it was cancelled, I only just found out about it when Jarrett appeared on Rove Live and talked about it. And that probably only happened because Rove is a massive wrestling fan and made a couple of appearances for WWA while that was a thing.

Just for giggles let me check out the ticket situation for Hammerstein as of now...back in a few with an edit.
Well granted it is a month away but other than Friday's taping they aint sold too much. The 30 dollar seats are gone for the 3 days...a few 40 dollar seats left for wed thursday ...Like I mentioned already they are sitting on the "on tv" side of the ring for the hard camera (section A)but there's still plenty of tickets to be had for 50 and up each day...actually kinda disappointed thinking about going and want a rowdy crowd.

There have been TV & radio ads in the area starting recently for the Slammiversary PPV next month. They did well with that 2 years ago, as said earlier. Looks to be the same this time around.

TNA ran a house show in my town a few weeks ago. They had an ad in the local paper and plugged the hell out of it during Impact. But, I couldn't find any promotion for the event anywhere else.
In true TNA not thinking ahead fashion in the newspaper ad Magnus was billed as the champion. As I recall Eric Young had been champion for a week or two by this point.

When they came here a few months back, the local rock station advertised it quite a bit but literally no one else did. If I didn't happen to listen to that station I wouldn't have even known about it.
However, anytime WWE comes to town there are billboard ads, tv ads, and ads on multiple radio stations.

This was one of the few things they were better at when Hogan was around.
