Here's a summary if you don't want to sit through. I tried to write as much as I could as I listened. Part 2 of their interview comes out Friday.
- WWE gave wrestlers a personality test in March (would you ever want to be a race car driver, that kinda stuff) and the woman who did the testing said Bryan's ambition score was the lowest she had ever seen. He was in the bottom 1%. She was shocked that he's made it this far. Bryan says it was low probably because this is all he'd ever wanted to do. Bryan said his "desire for power" was in the 0 percentile. He was comparing with Cesaro and Cesaro's scores on everything was way higher which was funny since they get along so well.
- He felt the push went to him recently, after Punk quit, because the officials were like "well we've got John and uh we've got.....". Bryan honestly thinks the plans were for him to be the first one to lost the MitB but then Henry was hurt. He says the only reason he won the MitB in his eyes is because they didn't want any heels winning that year for that one. He was the middle-man in 2 guys' feuds for a while so when Henry was hurt the WHC was handed to him. He laughs as he's talking about all of this. He says because of these lucky breaks, he's used to his advantage to show what he can do.
- Bryan feels bad for Sami Zayn because he's awesome and all but it's crazy when on tv people are doing incredible things on a weekly basis so it's harder for him to stand out and move up. The Shield in general for the past year. Mostly Rollins and Ambrose with their skills especially when Raw has at least a great match weekly. With 3 hours, it gives them time to actually show off their skills.
- Bryan thinks Titus O'Neil has a lot of upside but one of the hard things for him going forward is that he's only learned 1 way to do things. He suggests they let superstars go to Europe and Japan to learn some other things to help create their style. It is hard for a lot of guys because they only learn through the developmental system.
- Bryan says it's hard to have a 3 minute match. Jericho says having one is the art form of all art forms because it's so hard. Jericho says the hardest thing about tv matches is that some are so short. Bryan gets worked up in matches so when he has a short one he feels let down. The worst for him is when a crowd is really good and he's out there for 3 minutes and then they want more. He then goes back behind the curtain upset. Bryan doesn't get upset about a lot of stuff but short matches is one of them. Jericho was pissed that their first match was 6 minutes since he was excited for it. Jericho says to this day it still annoys him since they could have gone longer.
- They talk about wrestling nerd culture between wrestlers. Brings up him and Cesaro again and how if they were in high school, people would say "look at those 2 nerds talk about Japanese wrestling". Bryan calls Seth Rollins a Crossfit nerd and talks about how he follows big name Crossfitters. Bryan doesn't get how you can watch someone on a rowing machine for 30 mins while laughing. He called Rollins a nerd but then said "wait a minute..." and realized he is one too.
- Bryan's old friend showed him wrestling magazines in 1st grade and that's how he was hooked. Jericho didn't know wrestling was fake until 19-20. Bryan thought Dino Bravo wasn't tough and was "phony" but he thought Ultimate Warrior was tough. When Jericho was a kid and watched Stampede he saw Pillman and Bruce Hart and he thought "Pillman is amazing but this Bruce Hart is terrible" he didn't know why but he said it. Around 96 when Bryan saw Rey, he realized his excuses why he couldn't wrestle were thrown out the window. Malenko was his favorite wrestler and then he goes on the Malenko school talk. Jericho says Malenko is underrated and one of the best. Bryan says no one's better than Malenko in technique because he's so creative and fluid. In 2011, he asked Malenko to show him how to do something and Malenko did it so quick even at his age. Bryan tried around 5 times and he still couldn't do it, Malenko gave up.
- Bryan brings up a bad Billy Kidman cradle roll up that he'll have to mention to Kidman when he sees him. He remembered this when he and Jericho were talking about wrestlers doing horrible moves they see someone else do and they assume they can do it themselves.
- In 2009, while he was making a lot being indy, he knew he couldn't save up for retirement so he decided to have another WWE tryout but he realized he had to change his style up. He moved to Las Vegas and started training in Extreme Couture to get better at kicks mostly. He talked to Regal and Brian Kendrick and Kendrick told him to fly out so they can do some interview stuff to be Kendrick's new tag partner. Kendrick was then let go. Bryan then decided that he'd go back to Washington at the end of the year, go to college and find a career when he's done with wrestling considering he was screwed. 3 weeks after Kendrick was let go, they called him to WWE. He went through the medical screening and he thought he had cancer because his liver enzymes. Same thing happened to Jericho with his elevated testosterone and they thought Jericho had a tumor. Anyway with Bryan, Nigel McGuinness was diagnosed at the same time as Bryan. Bryan wasn't exactly honest with the doctors. Nigel told the truth about his injuries, he went through doctors and he didn't pass the physical. Bryan said Nigel had more of an upside but he didn't get an opportunity. It's things like that in which Bryan said you need a lot of luck to make it. Bryan sat at home for 4 months and then they called him up to NXT.
- They wanted him to change his name because they wanted to own it. They gave him a list of 10 names even though Bryan wanted to be Bryan Danielson, of course Regal gave him Daniel Bryan. On the list one of the names was "Buddy Peacock". The other name is "Lloyd Boner̃" pronounced "Boin-aye".
Here's part 2:
Part 2 just came out, here's the summary.
I'll update the OP.
- Ryback was the most competitive guy in NXT and tried to win everything even though it didn't matter.
- They pulled all the NXT guys in the office one night and told them about Nexus and described what they were going to do as a "gang style beatdown". They figured you could do whatever you wanted but the truth was they couldn't do what they wanted. Bryan didn't know the confines of PG and he saw the tie and thought "this would be great". The officials didn't know who was doing what when he was out there so when he got backstage they asked who choked Justin Roberts and Bryan said it was him. They asked who spit in Cena's face and he said it was him. Overall a bad mess.
- Tuesday Michael Hayes said Bryan would have to learn from "Tiegate" and it was ok. Wednesday Bryan talked to Miz in FCW about something and Miz said it would all blow over. Friday Bryan gets a call from Vince and he said they had to let him go. Bryan wasn't bothered when he saw the unknown number and he said "thank you for the opportunity" to Vince. Vince said they had to do it because they were PG and had sponsers. Vince said he was sorry. Bryan said "don't feel bad for me because I'll make more money in the indies than I ever have based off that". That took Vince aback. 2010 was a worse year for him with WWE than any year he's ever had in the indies.
- Bryan got the call from Johnny Ace to return to the WWE while he and his gf at the time were fostering a beagle at the vet.
- Vince turned Bryan heel because he was a vegan. Vince thought it would be great heel heat.
- Bryan realized the Yes Chant was catching on around February before WM28. Gradually it picked up steam. The next night on Raw it was over. During the dark match after that Raw, the crowd was doing the Yes Chants and they were wild the entire time. That night, Bryan talked to the merchandise guy about a Yes shirt, he had been asking for a while and because of the fans and their chanting, he went and told the crowd they've solidified him getting the shirt post-show.
- Bryan felt bad since the "18 Seconds" thing hurt Sheamus. He thought it would put Sheamus over big but it did the opposite.
- The original plan for the Punk/Jericho WM match was to have a 10 min brawl and then DQ. The reason it didn't end that way is because the Bryan/Sheamus match ended quickly.
- Bryan says for the rest of his career he'll be known as the "Yes Guy". Jericho says he's had 5 star matches and all that but he'll forever be known as the "Armbar Guy with a lighted jacket".
- Bryan said the period before he became the WHC WWE Champion at WM, where he had constant dusty finishes and shenanigans during PPV main event matches, was frustrating and demoralizing. He wants to be "the guy" and he wants to be where John Cena is at, where the company revolves around him. He's ok with them not pushing him as the guy since he'll work harder to be the guy. If he's not the guy, he wants the guy to be someone who's on the road. He feels the problem with that period is that it didn't help Randy either, they needed everyone to hate him, and they didn't get it with that. He's ok with some things if he sees the benefit but he didn't see the benefit then.
- Shawn told the class that if they get to the point where they're not nervous, they should quit. With that said, Bryan wasn't nervous with the 2 WM matches. He was excited and he thought it would be fun. He couldn't wait.
- One of Bryan's favorite matches was the match against KENTA where he separated his shoulder 3 weeks earlier and KENTA was truly hurting his arm. The crowd was crying and everything, the emotion made the match great. The matches with Regal in Europe were special to him too. The WM30 matches and SS match against Cena as well were also favorites. The SS match since it was the first time he really main evented especially against Cena. Bryan and Jericho say Cena's one of the most underrated workers.
- Bryan's thought about trimming his beard although Brie loves his beard. At some point the beard will go but he hates having to shave. Jericho says Vince doesn't like facial hair. Someone told Bryan that Vince doesn't like long hair right now either since he thinks it's a relic of the 80s/90s
The whole interview, he and Jericho were cracking up.

Part 2 just came out, here's the summary.
I'll update the OP.
- In NXT, Bryan thought it was smart to pair him up with Miz since it created interest even though hardcore fans were pissed. Bryan needed to work on his talking so pairing him with Miz worked since Miz is a great antagonist to talk about. Jericho brought up the fact that when the pros sat on the stage and scored superstars, nothing was tracked. They drew funny pictures, played tic-tac-toe, that kinda stuff. Jericho thought Bryan's "make you tap" promo during his first night was very smart since he created a catchphrase. Bryan said "tap or snap" because he heard it on PRIDE MMA commentary. They said he couldn't use it because it was trademarked by someone. Bryan thought the whole situation was crazy and bizarre.
- Ryback was the most competitive guy in NXT and tried to win everything even though it didn't matter.
- They pulled all the NXT guys in the office one night and told them about Nexus and described what they were going to do as a "gang style beatdown".
