Some actual proof would be nice. Or failing that I guess it comes back to picking on inactives again. SO everyone better be loud and proud My question, not just to Lodirulz but to EVERYONE: What roles do you all think are in this game? I mean, what would you think the mafia would have? And what do you all think town would have? Also do you think there is a 3rd party in the game?

I'd say the Mafia have a Godfather and a double voter. Town should have a Cop, roleblocker, and maybe a watcher. No third party, it's too small a game, I'd guess we're dealing with 4-5 Mafia.

D2, do you think an absolute shot in the dark would be rational at this juncture? D2 is my guy! D2, do you think an absolute shot in the dark would be rational at this juncture? That's the problem with Day 1. 9 times out of 10, unless somebody slips up HARD, it's always a shot in the dark. I'm a firm believer in a Day 1 lynch, then work things out from there. If we get Mafia, see what their tactic is that night to retaliate. If we hit town, see who they target and who THAT person was suspicious of. We're going to have to shoot off in the dark on the first day. Hopefully that shot tears through and we can see some light.

I personally think speculation on what roles are in this game only benefits Mafia this early in the game. If we do decide to go this route, I'd suggest we consider what roles the Mafia might have and that's it. Let's leave our Town power roles alone and make scum try to figure out what we have.
Granted, on day one, unless someone really screws up, there's no way to determine who's who. We're all merely dancing in the dark at this juncture.

Good call Produce.
Mafia Roles that might be in the game: I'm going to go with the idea that there are 3 Mafia - fits the 22% rule of thumb.
Of those three, 1 is probably Godfather (never seen a game here without one), 1 is probably Role Blocker (ditto), and the 3rd is probably a simple Goon.

Consensus then is that there isn't a third-party based on the amount of players?

Consensus then is that there isn't a third-party based on the amount of players? I find it highly unlikely. We'll more than likely get a definitive answer by day three. If there is a third party, they would be revealed in the write ups by then.

If deadline approaches, shall we lynch an inactive player, if any?

If deadline approaches, shall we lynch an inactive player, if any? Honestly, I'd rather lynch someone that's borderline active. I think we'd be a bit more likely to nail scum among those that are on cruise control so to speak. Lynching inactives won't yield too much info I don't think.

Game Mod Note: If someone is inactive this game, they will get mod killed, no replacement, UNLESS given a reason (basically anything other then I forgot the game existed)
Carry On

To compensate for a small number of members, maybe Mafia has a Jack-of-All-Trades?

It's possible. However, I think it's more likely they're with the standard "godfather, roleblocker, goon" setup. If there's more than three I suppose the forth could have some kind of ability.

I'm guessing there is around four mafia members and maybe two third party members.

The odds of an inactive player having an important role is likely less than the odds of an active player with a strong role. And those not as active won't help when it gets down to the nitty gritty. We lynch someone who has posted very little.

Here's where we stand so far with the question and answer format I proposed.
* = asked a question ° = answered a question
Now here are the post counts since the start of the game.
