Quarterfinals recap:
Our Quarterfinals started with Steve Lombardi going for his second stright upset against The Junkyard Dog but it was not to be. JYD dominated the match from the start and finished Lombardi off with the Big Thump Powerslam.
Next match pitted Paul Orndorff battle Pedro Morales. The legendary former WWF Champion showed he still had some fight left against his younger foe. Orndorff attempted to finish Morales with a piledriver but Morales tripped him up and went for a Boston Crab. However, Orndorff was able to counter it into a small package for the pin. Then in a great display of sportsmanship, A gracious Morales shook Orndorff's hand and congratulated him.
Meanwhile, The Iron Sheik wanted revenge on Jim Brunzell for preventing him from hurting B. Brian Blair earlier. So as Brunzell approched the Gorilla Position Sheik jumped him with his flagpole. This time it was Blair coming to his partner's rescue, grabbing the flagpole from Sheik and cracking him over the head with it. With both Brunzell & Sheik injured in the attack, neither man was in any shape to continue so their respective opponents Terry Funk & Ricky Steamboat each earned a bye into the Semifinals.
So now we are down to four. Who will be in the finals? Time to vote.
