Semifinals recap:
The first semifinal was a hard fought bout between two fan favorites, The Junkyard Dog and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. As the match passed the 25 minute mark a desperate Orndorff hit the Dog with a low blow that the ref missed. Orndorff then went for the piledriver but the Dog countered with a back bodydrop. JYD then went for the Thump but Orndorff slid down the back, rolled the Dog up and grabbed a handful of tights for the win. Both JYD and the crowd are stunned by Orndorff but Mr. Wonderful boasts that he will pull out all the stops to win.
In our other semifinal Terry Funk was able to get the upper hand on Ricky Steamboat by turning the match into a wild brawl. But no matter what he tried he couldn't put The Dragon away. As Steamboat started to rally Funk tripped him and put his own feet on the ropes for the pin. However, the ref spotted it as he counted three and waived the pin off. As Funk argued with the ref, Steamboat leaped into Funk shoulders and excuted the victory roll for the pin. Afterwards, Funk attacks Steamboat with his branding iron until Tito Santana runs him off.
So it comes down to this. Who will be our first King of the Ring. It's time to vote.
