1985 Finals Recap:
The Finals of the 1985 King of the Ring saw the two men using different tactics to take the crown. While Ricky Steamboat played by the rules Paul Orndorff bent whatever rules he could get away with. The match turned after Steamboat accidently collided with the ref, knocking him out. Orndorff followed up with a piledriver. He went for the pin but the ref was still out cold. Frustrated, Orndorff went out and grabbed a chair. As he prepared to wack Steamboat he suddenly seemed to have second thoughts. He threw the chair outside and went for a second piledriver but Steamboat countered with a jackknife pin as the ref recovered to count the three.
As a tired Steamboat celebrated he turned around and saw an angry looking Orndorff. Just as it seemed that there was going to be trouble Orndorff shook Steamboat's hand to the delight of the crowd.
All hail our first King of the Ring, Ricky "The Dragon King" Steamboat.
