If they get Bosh....they will be a better version of the Finals Magic team with Dwight. Dangerous. If you're referencing the Rockets, then you couldn't be more wrong. For all the fawning and adulation and rose petals we throw at LeBron James' feet for taking the 2007 Cavaliers to the NBA Finals, Dwight Howard deserves sainthood for dragging the 2009 Magic to the Finals. That Magic team was horrendous. After Howard, their best players were a going-nowhere-fast Rashard Lewis, a just-past-his-prime Hedo Turkoglu, Rafer Alston, Courtney Lee, and Mickael Pietrus. That team had no right advancing past the quarterfinals, let alone making it to the Finals. The 2014-15 Rockets could potentially have Howard, James Harden, Chris Bosh, Patrick Beverley, and Jeremy Lin. Every one of those players is better than anyone on the 2009 Magic. They would stand to be one of the serious contenders in a loaded Western Conference. This is my fault. I originally read it as the Rockets signing Parsons. I literally read an article an hour before this about Parsons in Houston. But actually, your statement on them being horrendous couldn't be even more wrong. I think you are misunderstanding my point. That Magic roster was not impressive. It was Howard with a bunch of aging/streaky shooters to stretch the floor with. Sounds terrible right? SVG made it work...and work great. The Magic offense was set around Howard in the center with 3's on the outside. The Magic were one of 2 teams that make over 800 three-pointers...out placing 3rd place (Nets) by over 100 3's. They were also in the top ten in 3-point field-goal percentage. They score, being 10th in points per game. They could also defend, placing 6th in opponents points per game. They also had Howard lead the league in rebounds...picking up all those missed 3's. So while I do believe on your reasoning of why the Magic's roster was bad...the point is that they were used phenomenally well. Well enough to win 59 games...and to go 22-8 against the strong West Conference. That is why I said the Rockets would be a dangerous, more horrifying version of it. Beverly, Harden, Bosh, and other hot shooter at the three, all centered around Howard, would be a more complete version of the what the Magic tried to do. And they have versatility too, with Harden's driving and Bosh's still credible inside presence.

It'd be cool to see the Rockets succeed, if only because Pat Beverly is my guy. He used to date my neighbor around the time he got drafted, and I'd see him around my house all the time. I was kinda young and too scared to talk to him, but he seemed like a chill guy.

As soon as they beat the Celtics in the 2nd round that year, I knew the Magic would go to the Finals, because while they weren't the greatest team(but nowhere near horrendous), they had the Cavs number during that time. I said then that that Magic/Celtics series was the real EC Finals, because both of them were better than the Cavs. LeBron was the best player out of those 3 teams, but the Cavs were the worst of those 3 teams, head to head.

Stephen A Smith said on Mike and Mike that he is hearing now/he believes LeBron is going to be a Cavalier. After pushing the "he still hasn't decided" angle yesterday, Brian Windhorst says this morning that LeBron actually had his mind made up before the meeting.
Take it how you'd like.

There's too much smoke now for Lebron not to be Cleveland bound

WHY would he return to Cleveland? Just because someone is from, oh...I don't know, Milwaukee, that probably won't mean that they'll want to go play for such a crappy franchise.

Lebron James is a lot of things, but he is most certianly not an idiot. Neither is his PR team. With the ship sinking in Miami, he sees a great PR oppritunity. Go home, and with the right pieces, bring home a title to a city that hasn't seen a pro championship since 1964 (Pre Superbowl NFL title) IF he goes to Cleveland and wins a title there, he gets a great personal "redemption" story after what happened 4 years ago, and is the big hero for ending the drought in Cleveland.

Part of it is probably that his wife/family were pushing for a Cleveland return, he wants to make good for his hometown fans, and is going to wind his career down where it started. I don't see him winning a title with the Cavs or anything, but it will at least give Cleveland something to legitimately cheer about once Johnny Football and the Browns flame out in spectacular fashion.

Well those close to LeBron have also said that he wants his kids to go to the same high school he went to so a return was close. I could also be completely off base, but I get the impression that going to Miami was not as "fun" (for lack of a better word) as he thought it would be. I don't know why I think this, but it seems like he's just been frustrated with how things went.

He underestimated just how much it would piss people off. I think it comes down to the fact that after a life of being the hero, and being treated as a god, that he couldn't handle, nor did he want to be a villian

Well that too. I'm not a LeBron or Heat hater, but I thought the Decision special was uncalled for. Yes I understand LeBron donated everything to charity from that special, but why does he need to hold an hour long tv special? Also, didn't he insist every team go to him and meet? Of course, the having his friends he talks to at ESPN say "LeBron wants to make it perfectly clear, he's loyal to Akron not Cleveland"
But it is what it is. I know Wade and Bosh are two of his best friends so playing on a team with them appealed to him. I remember year 1 there were rumblings that LeBron and Bosh weren't happy with how Spoelstra pushed them, but I just think at the end of the day, especially after getting two rings, I think IF he goes back home it's because that's where he wanted to be and he sacrificed his hometown for rings (which I won't villify him for).
In a similar vein, rumors are Bosh feels the Heat aren't treating him fairly either. And I see the argument for both sides.

I think what people fail to understand is they didn't hate Lebron for leaving Cleveland, they hate how he did it, and how he behaved afterwards with his arrogance, bold claims of not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, and so forth. If he just said he's going to Miami, played the game and didn't behave the way he did, and just carried himself in a more professional and humble fashion he wouldn't have been vilified.

Should we expect him to go back to the heat after this contracts up?
