A vision of what happens when the economy fails.
Also, the result of the rise of Amazon & eBay I'd say.
I live in a 30000 people town, and we used to have two large shopping malls, like malls big enough to have major anchor stores.
Just not sustainable. We have one mall now, with Wal-Mart, Sears and Staples, and it's doing decent I guess, lots of stores in it.
Although some of it is f***tarded.... did we really need two hair salons within 50 feet of one another?

I'm surprised more glass isn't broken in there.

I think part of the blame lies in real estate owners who jack up the rent on stores.

I think part of the blame lies in real estate owners who jack up the rent on stores. Agreed. That's how Staples and K-Mart both went out of business in my town- the real estate owners rose the prices dramatically and both stores weren't making enough to exist because of it.

it's no abandoned amusement park that's for sure. Yeah. That video doesn't get nearly enough play around here.

Yeah. That video doesn't get nearly enough play around here. ...? Which video? haha, its this video that someone would post up every few months or so of shots of this old abandonded amusement park. I think the same person would keep posting it, forgetting they posted it previously.

There is a mall near me, that is almost like this I go there every Sunday and watch it slowly go down hill. They are now storing cars in the mall, and there is a random talking tree

The more I see strip malls being built up into giant monstrosities, the more I think the age of the ol' shopping mall is passing us by. Heck we have one near us that used to be a mall but was converted into outside stores, a Target and a supermarket.
I love seeing old malls that still live on with relatively few changes from the old days. But those places are fewer and farther between. It's getting that the 2-3 story malls that were great & awesome in the '90s are becoming old stalwarts - perhaps here and there in danger of closing - too.

Brody would love this place. No kids on the escalators. There's not a year that goes by, not a year, that I don't read about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent--I don't care which one--but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator!

Would be awesome to sneak inside and shoot a movie. The only problem would be stuff falling apart, or on your head.
