After hearing good things for a very long time I finally decided to give it a try. I ended up binge watching all 18 episodes in a row. How the hell did this show get cancelled? It's so good, I'm upset there isn't anymore episodes to watch

Hey I just watched it to. Seems crazy it didn't catch on, but at least everyone got a career out of it.

Low ratings, if this show came years later IMO it would've done way better and would've had more seasons

I watched it when it premiered; I think 10 other people did too. 1999 was a completely different time you have to remember, so while the fanbase was vocal there wasn't as much of a way to express that as there is today. The time it took em to wrote this is about half as much time on the internet I was allowed to use then.

That's the thing about Freaks & Geeks. It's so great, that while watching it, there's almost a sense of sadness, that something so brilliant, was so shortlived.

Look on the bright side, if this were today, Freaks and Geeks would've been cancelled after half an episode.

As I was watching each episode it was like I was counting them down. Loved Lindsay's ending. Kinda wish Kim had a better one. And Sam sticking it to Cindy was just plain awesome.

And Sam sticking it to Cindy was just plain awesome. Zod, Cindy was horrible. Had to love that by the end of the show they made Vicki more likeable than Cindy.

I was so happy for Sam when he first got her. Than by the bext episode I was like "Man, Cindy's a bitch" Gotta love Ken being cool and staying with Tuba Girl as well.

I really liked this show and Undeclared, both were canceled too early.

I loved how Kens final scene was him crashing a disco club and declaring his love for Rock and Roll. It just seemed so appropriate.

This thread inspired me to watch it on Netflix for the first time tonight. Watched the first 2 episodes and liking it. Also Linda Cardellini was so hot. If I was Corey I'd have picked her over Topanga.

The last two episodes kinda soured me on this show. Sam finally gets his dream girl and dumps her cause all she wants to do is make out with him? WTF as a geek in High School I'd have killed for that. Also Lindsay should've ended up with Daniel.

Wasn't one of the reasons it was cancelled (And subsequently took so long to come out on DVD), that licensing the various musical tracks cost a metric ton of its budget?

I watched the original run too. It was on Saturdays.
Shitty ratings on Saturday nights? I'm shocked.
NBC didn't know what to do with it.

The last two episodes kinda soured me on this show. Sam finally gets his dream girl and dumps her cause all she wants to do is make out with him? She also wanted him to fight Todd, because Todd made a comment about the cheerleaders, and he specifically said he wasn't talking about Cindy. When he gave her a family heirloom, she was more concerned with how much it cost, and didn't want to wear it. She didn't want to do anything Sam wanted to do, and was pissed as watching The Jerk. She got mad when he wore a turtleneck covering up a hickey. She and Sam had absolutely nothing in common. Cindy was Sam's dream girl, but when he finally got her, he realized it was a nightmare. I go back to a comment I made earlier about Vicki being more likeable. I thought that was a great job by the writers. When the show started, Cindy was the nice pretty cheerleader, and Vicki was the pretty bitchy bossy cheerleader, but by the end of the show, Vicki actually had nice moments, and Cindy was the bitch. Vicki was the one that had no problem talking to Eli, she went to see how Bill was doing after he went into a coma, and after being told off by Bill in the closet, she and him had a nice conversation where she mentioned that Bill has to have a good life, because he's always smiling or laughing, and she made out with him.

I loved the show. It was so frustrating when it was cancelled and how NBC was with the show. I may have a few facts wrong, but I think NBC aired the final episodes in one big long marathon, which felt like NBC was taking on final dump on the show.
