The Demon Kane.
The Demon Kane is the #1 Contender because The Demon Kane is the one who inured Daniel Bryan. I feel we need to discuss The Demon Kane some more because there really is no one in the WWE like The Demon Kane.
The Demon Kane. The Demon Kane. The Demon Kane.
The Demon Kane certainly is no Coporate Kane.
The Demon Kane.

It reminds me of Howard Hughes in "The Aviator"

Motherf***er never conquered the streak, so I don't even care.
Also, he's nobody's client. What's up with that?

For all the people that call ADR a heat vacuum, when ADR/Bryan had that Raw match a few weeks ago, ADR was getting heat and Bryan was getting consistent pops. But when THE DEMON Kane fights Bryan, only big spots wake them up. The Demon Kane is a completely vortex of all things good when he gets into main event feuds.

I guess there is plenty of precedence in wrestling for name changes making a difference, even if it is a little awkward.
For example, you're in for a very different experience against Mutoh or Muta, or Jushin Thunder Liger instead of the rare appearance of Kishin Liger. Foley, etc.
I can only imagine he's winding down. I just wonder if they will try to have him go out a monster or humanize him as he goes. I guess tying it all into the mask makes sense, even if it disregards that arguably, the most important he ever was took place during his maskless period, at least as far as main eventing.

They have to call him the Demon Kane or you might remember him being the Incompetent Businessman Kane or Kurly Kane.

Fun fact: "demon" is Hebrew for "this guy doesn't beat anyone important"

What did he do to earn numerous title shots anyway? He lost in the Rumble and at Mania, both in embarrassing fashion. He lost to Daniel Bryan at least three times in two months, one of which was a title shot. He is a big loser. If Stephanie really wants Bryan to lose the title, why would she have Kane keep challenging for the title and not get someone more competent to do it?

It really does reek of the forcing the WWE is attempting with this.
The man was wearing khakis less than three months ago.
The man was squashed in a three minute Wrestlemania match.
The man put on a mask and now he's unstoppable? Of course not. So he can't be a man anymore. He's a DEMON! He's embraced his DEMON. He's been possessed by a DEMON! He's awoken THE DEMON.
...Daggone it, when does See No Evil 2 come out?

The Demon Kane needs to retire because The Demon Kane is stale as hell and nobody cares about this feud between Daniel Bryan and The Demon Kane.

Which is a real shame since Kane used to be really entertaining as part of Team Hell No. I hated making him "Korporate" in the first place, but it's remarkable when giving him the mask back feels bland too just because of the booking.

Considering how his mask is behind his kayfabe power boost, I wonder what happens when other people put on his mask. Like, would a jobber like Ryder become a main eventer? Would a midcarder like Ziggler become a main eventer? Would a main eventer like Bryan become a God like Triple H?

It goes "Comedy Jobber+Mask=Midcard," "Midcard+Mask=Main Event," "Main Event+Mask=Triple H," and "Triple H + Mask=Comedy Jobber."
