The upcoming Impact tapings on the 19th and 20th just happened to coincide with my vacation from work so I figured.. eh, why not?
I'm a long time TNA fan and although I've become apathetic towards their current product I'm sure I'll have fun regardless. I hope.
What're Impact tapings like? I don't think I've ever been to one before, just PPVs. Do they do dark matches and everything? Tape Xplosion?

I went to one in TX last year and what they did was, film an Xplosion match, do the live Impact that was airing that night, another Xplosion match, then do the following weeks Impact.
Of course with yours being done over two days. I'm not sure what kind of schedule they'll be on.

Isn't that a little town? Well, it's not exactly large. I don't understand why they would do a tv taping in eastern Pennsylvania and choose the Lehigh Valley over Philly.

They're filming at the Sands aren't they? Should be much easier to fill a casino and control the crowd than it would be in Philly.

This is the same company that will be filming about 50 episodes of Impact at the Manhattan Center after all.

Good for you.
Haven't ever been to a TNA TV taping (or any live TNA event for that matter) but I think the norm is filming the in-ring action for two episodes in one sitting.
I have been to WWE and ROH tapings and it can get a bit longish, and if you pay attention you might notice some unexplained things that "happened" in the time lapse between episodes that will make more sense when you see them on TV with backstage stuff filling in blanks that weren't apparent when watching live (face or heel turn, a promo alluding to something the audience is not aware of, etc.), someone wrestling twice on the same live show and getting beat up in his first match but being fresh as a daisy when you see him the second time (after a week has passed on TV).
The thing that can wear on an audience is repeated opening sequences when they will ask the audience to get loud and rowdy one more time (and another time after that, etc.) but the upside is you will probably see a good bit of the roster and you might get to see some of your favorites wrestle multiple matches.

TNA could probably do with three wise men right about now.

That was my exact thought, TNA is gonna be in for a nasty surprise if they're at all considering "crowd control" in the former stomping grounds of ECW and current regular venue for ROH.

It's the in ring return of Jesus! 1.1 Which would be great for current TNA.
