On June 14th 1914 Tarzan of the Apes was first published in book form (it was in magazine serials in 1912). So its been 100 years that Tarzan has been part of our culture. We all know the story because it has become a big part of our culture from his love to Jane to his famous call. In a year or so we will be getting a new movie, hopefully it will be closer to the book like Greystroke was over the other movies. Will it lead to sequals and go deeper into the other books in the series that are often forgotten? What lies in the future is only speculation. But today we can look back at the books, movies and cartoons that have come out over the last century and know that it was on this day 100 years ago that the story of the jingle man, raised by apes that traveled all the way to Wisconsin to find his love, had its first publication. www.biblio.com/tarzan-of-the-apes-by-burroughs-edgar-rice/work/1441
