I thought Batista was good, I thought Bradley Cooper NAILED Rocket, but I can't say they stole the movie.
Because after seeing this, I can tell Chris Pratt is going to be a big deal, fairly quickly.

I liked it a lot. Everything said here about Batista was true though at times it felt like he was mumbling his lines. Minor complaint: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}It felt like there was no reason for John C. Reilly to be in the film other than to be there. Didn't know this about Thanos: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Josh Brolin voiced him
And as for Vin Diesel: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I guess you can say he went out on a "limb" with this one Overall: 8/10

Just got done seeing it. Awesome movie.
Also was pleasantly surprised to see Merle from Walking Dead show up. He was great in his role too. Hopefully we see more of him.
And pretty much everybody in the main cast was great. Batista included.

Another Funfact: there is a couple of references to Kevin Bacon in the movie. Kevin Bacon played the main antagonist in James Gunn's previous movie SUPER.
OK that one was a bit plrp.

Drax: What if I find a creature irksome and rip out its spine?
*Dey stares incredulously*
Dey: Uh...no...that's murder. That might be the worst of all crimes.
Biggest laugh of the film in the theatre I saw it in.
Outstanding movie all around.

I heard H Jon Benjamin was considered to voice Rocket.
I love a bit of H Jon but I'm kinda glad they did not go with that. It would ended up being basically Sterling Archer as a raccoon.

Seriously though, I couldn't help but laugh hearing Wreck-It Ralph describe who the Guardians of the Galaxy were.

I liked it. It wasn't the spectacle that Avengers was, or the epic Captain America 2 was. But it didn't need to be. I just appreciate how they wrote the thing almost as a complete comedy. I really liked the dynamic of the team. Unlike Avengers their animosity and bickering felt a lot more genuine. I feel like Groot and Rocket will have a big surge of popularity coming off this. They were arguably the stars of whole movie. But all the main cast was great, even Batista. With that said though I had a few issues with it. Firstly I thought the villains were pretty weak. Ronan was pretty ummemorable and Nebula kind of bored me. Even Thanos came off worse in it. Honestly if he wasn't going to be a main part I'd have preferred they kept him completely in the background. I definitely think the film would have flourished more with some more colorful villains (like Michael Rooker's character, for example). Also the climax was a little too over the top for me. {Spoiler}Seriously how dumb did Ronan look. All he had to do was move his arm down a little. Instead he just gawks at Star-Lord's dancing moves. The post-credit scene was... uh, something. I'll be interested to see where that ends up. All in all I liked it quite a bit. I wonder how much Vin Diesel got paid for those few words he had to repeat.

God, this movie was awesome. The best part of all of this is that it shows that movies based on lesser known comics can be successful.
Also when he gets back to the WWE Batista has to start talking like Drax.
John Cena: You can't see me!
Batista: You are wrong annoying creature! You clearly stand right in front of me waving your hand in front of your face!

The moral of the story is that if you ever need a heroic sacrifice by a large creature, have Vin Diesel do the voice

I really think I must have missed something here. Mayhaps I went in just expecting more? Or maybe it's because these are the characters I have the most attachement too when it comes to Marvel; the cosmic side of things has always been my favourite, but I'm just not feeling this one. What is wrong with me?! You're just cooler than everyone else.

Iron Giant is such an underrated gem.
I'm considering seeing GOTG again on a matinee. Great time.
And this is gonna launch Pratt to A list pretty quick, clearly.
