How exactly did this come about? Did Dustin want to give his wife a job? Was it because crowds used to chant a certain derogatory term that begins with F at Goldust?

Had the story behind this been told?

For what it's worth, introducing hervas Goldust's director was a great move, IMO. Gave a good twist to the character.

She was great in WCW as Alexandra York so already had the resume. Goldust probably pitched it to put her with him so they said why not.

I remember a rather large write-up on them in WWF Magazine, which I think told their story, but I'd be lying if I said all I really recall is some shots of her ridiculously enlarged breasts. I was like 13 or 14 at the time, sue me.

She was a distraction so the male fans wouldn't feel "funny" when watching Goldust matches. What better way to counter psychosexual homoerotica than with a large breasted pixie puffing on a phallic symbol (!!!)

Wallstreet definitely had the computer program that helped him decide how to win at least for a short time. I remember seeing it recently on a random WCW ppv (might have been a clash of the champions)

Edit: yeah he was with them until "early" 91 when he left to become IRS... that's when they swapped to Terry Taylor... even though Mike spent most of the time feuding with him including a match at Starrcade 1990

The York Foundation also had "Richard" Morton and "Thomas" Rich. It was actually a pretty ahead-of-its-time gimmick in WCW. Terry Taylor had some of his best WCW matches as "Terrance" Taylor, the Computerized Man of the 1990s".

That freakin line has stuck with me ever since that show. York Foundation was cool, but they all ended up being jobbers. That part kinda sucked. Did they try to recruit Beautiful Bobby as well? Happened so long ago, I cannot remember.

She was the one who pitched the idea early on in the gimmick and she was told thanks but no thanks. Then a few months later they called her to do the gimmick and that was around the time it was getting alot of heat so they decided to switch it up, as someone said to distract from the homoeroticism

one thing i remember about the York Foundation was how whenever her guys were getting beat up Terri/Alexandra would start randomly punching keys on her laptop then pulling her hair when it wasn't giving her the solution to the face's offense and throwing her hands in the air hopelessly when her guy would look over to her for advice.

I remember back then I went into a school after her Royal Rumble debut and this guy kept trying to spoil the show for me as I hadn't seen it yet and mentioned Goldust had been paired with this ugly woman. I was expecting someone like Luna and then when 12 year old me saw Marlena my mouth was watering. She looked amazing in those dresses,played her mysterious gimmick well and made Goldust seem even more bizarre.

I always figured Marlena was brought in to sorta squash all the gay overtones with Goldust that I'm sure was bothering a few people in middle America.
