First round recap:
In our first match Kwang tried to blind Razor Ramon with the Asian Mist but Razor ducked it. Razor then cut his way through Kwang pinning him after The Razor's Edge.
After coming so close last year, Bam Bam Bigelow is determined to finish the job. He took his first step by wrecking Sparky Plugg, pinning him after a diving headbutt.
Despite his talent, Scott Steiner was a major underdog in his match with IRS who had more singles experience. But Steiner stunned the taxman with a Frankensteiner for the win.
Meanwhile, Mabel easily squashed Quebecer Pierre with a big splash.
For Owen Hart the tournament has a greater purpose. Winning the event that his brother couldn't would give him another victory in his sibling rivalry. He outwrestles Doink The Clown and gets him to submit to the Sharpshooter.
The match between Tatanka and Crush is a violent brawl. Tatanka took control late in the match and went to the top but Mr. Fuji knocked him off with his flagpole. Crush pinned Tatanka after a Gorilla Press Slam.
Meanwhile, The 123 Kid was a major underdog (as usual) against Adam Bomb. The Kid used his speed to dodge Bomb for a while but Bomb caught him and threw him to the floor. On the floor he attempted to slam The Kid against the ringpost but the Kid slipped out and rammed Bomb's head against the post instead. He rolled back into the ring for the countout victory.
In our final first round match, Jeff Jarrett was getting pounded by Lex Luger but when the Ref got knocked out Jarrett saw his chance. He went for his guitar but Luger took it from him and smashed it over his head for the pin.
So now we know which eight men are going to Baltimore. And now the question on everyone's mind is "How much does dis guy weigh?" Sorry, that just the question on Art Donovan's mind. The real question is "Who's going to the semifinals?" Time to vote.
