I'm positive it was for Bird's retirement.

Off point, but the greatest hockey player of all time and to me the single greatest at any sport ever. The very, very best ever...wore this jersey.

I thought he would be in Tampa for life. Except for his time in Calgary? The Captain on a team that isn't the Oilers or Rangers Thanks for opening the wound. Everything about this pisses me off. Motherf***er demands #11 and has it written into his contract, even though the Canucks have it out circulation, much like #28, not retired, but when you pick your jersey number, it's not an option. So he demands it anyway. Then runs Linden out of town, then tanks the team for his entire run. Moose in a Canucks jersey is a sore spot.

On that same level One of the greatest Centers to ever play in the NBA, and without a doubt the best since Kareem, played in that monstrosity. Hell, there were so many great NBA players in the 90's who played in horrible horrible uniforms.

What about Randy Johnson playing for the Astros? Will Clark as a St. Louis Cardinal. Chuck Finley as a St. Louis Cardinal Bobby Abreu, before a long and successful tenure with the Phillies, started his career with the Astros.

I see this and raise you... Also Griffey Jr. as on the White Sox is so weird to me. I'm just glad Barry Larkin never went anywhere. He was the guy growing up. Glad he retired a Red. I actually had to look this up because I have ZERO recollection of Shaq with the Cavs. I vaguely remember his time with Boston and definitely remember his time with his other teams, but I honestly thought that Cavs jersey had to be photoshop, weird, because I follow the NBA close enough that I shoulda remembered that.

The Mets had a ton of hall of famers...just that most of them were past their prime: Duke Snider Ritchie Ashburn (who was actually pretty good in 1962) Rogers Hornsby (Coach) Red Ruffing (Coach) Warren Spahn Yogi Berra (As a coach you know but he actually played a couple games for the 1965 team) Eddie Murray Willie Mays Tom Glavine
That's just a few.

Tim Wakefield spent a large part of his career with Boston. He came up with the Pirates. Paul Konerko was drafted by the Dodgers and he was a catcher. and then he had a stay in Cincinnati before joining the White Sox. Steve "Mongo" McMichael was famous for his days as a Bear but he also played for the Bears eternal rival.

This thread rules and makes me cringe and mourn at the same time. Moreso the latter. When I see these photos, it makes me try to think of a way to describe the hurt I'm feeling when I see them like that and all I keep going back to is that they "TNA'ed it."
