An episode behind, just finished watching Mummy which, I really enjoyed. The ending was a bit lacklustre but the build up was pretty good. I somehow think that guy who helped The Doctor, Perkins I think his name was, is going to crop up again.
I was disappointed that Clara decided to stay with the Doctor. I can't stand her and want her gone. She is an utterly boring and annoying character. I'm beyond tired of the standard "Doctor's companions are a young woman from modern London". I want a male companion, a robot companion, an alien companion or if they want a female companion... have one from the future or from the past to mix it up a bit.

Digging the bait of a Clara heel-turn, I gotta say. We got our 'I am the Doctor' moment. It actually feels like a bit of a double-turn, really.

Flat-line was a really good episode, the villains were interesting and threatening, Clara was good and became more three dimensional while the Doctor got some great moments. Also the side characters were fine and was surprised by who survived. {Spoiler}Thought the move the Tardis off the railway tracks by hand was a great moment.

{Spoiler}I was hoping the TARDIS glitching like a fiend was going to lead to Clara getting ditched but now that they've hinted at her heel turn I'm pretty interested in that. More of Danny Pink next week, not sure about him yet but for some reason my friends and I have taken to shouting "DANNY PINK, PINK, PINK!" every time he's on screen so that should mess up our vocal chords next week.

So, canon ways to beat the psychic paper in NewWho:
1. Special training to resist psychic influences 2. Being a child or having a childlike inquisitive mind 3. Good old English smallmindedness

God I loved this episode. Best one of the current season, not that that's saying much really.

So... that was an alright episode, but not a great one. Felt kinda silly, and I think the preview from last week hyped it up a little bit more than it deserved... which is normal of damn near every "Next Time, on..." preview.
It didn't suck. That's... praise, right?

That's... praise, right? Yeah, kinda feeling the same way here. It feels like it could have been better but at least it's not worse. Not a fan of how they used the "talk to the entire Human race at the last minute" thing AGAIN and tried to give supernatural origins to things we already have an explanation for AGAIN. In fact, it was pretty much "Kill the Moon" again only less stupid. Could you really not think of another idea so you had to recycle a plot from the same season, guys? This season is a bit strange to me. it almost feels like season 1 of New Who all over again where they're not sure if they want to be dark and creepy or fun and whimsical so they do both in alternately without really connecting the two. And yeah, they really need to stop doing this "you know that thing you're all familiar with? Well it's all a result of something from the show!" thing. The Statue of Liberty is a Weeping Angel, the Moon is an egg, now the Tungunska explosion was caused by magic trees shielding us from a solar flare?

Ignoring the solar/forest threat, the character interaction between everyone in the episode was really good.

I actually fairly enjoyed the episode, however some of the kids they chose for the parts were utterly terrible. I find it hard to blame them, being kids, but then again they ARE payed actors.
Still, I digress, the story was clearly recycled but I think done to a much higher standard than "Kill The Moon" and the interaction between all the main characters was fun and well done. Clara tricking the Doctor back to the TARDIS worked for me and the Doctor's speech was nice. I also liked them sealing the deal on Clara/Pink as a proper relationship. I think this episode made him more likable and a little deeper than troubled ex-soldier who is love interest.
I'm really looking forward to next week though, it's been a hit or miss season but Capaldi has been nothing but excellent in my opinion. If they can go out with a bang over the space of this two parter I think it will be enough to drag this season from average or good to good or great. Let's just see.

I thought it was one of the worst episodes ever and hope it falls into the crack of time.

Eh, it was okay. Though any episode with Danny Pink loses my interest quick

"Meh" episode
I liked the concept but everyone outside of the Doctor & Maebh was bloody annoying.
I know this'll be a non issue for most people but the part when Mr Pink (Awful character) & the kids just busted into the Tardis irritated the piss out of me.

Well to be fair, the old series did this a lot too. The Big Bang, the Marie Celeste, the Flannen Isles lighthouse, not one but two explanations for the Loch Ness Monster...
