I didn't really get the ending. So was there a monster? Was it all in his head? If so, then why did everyone else have the same dream? Who was under that bedspread? Maybe it'll be answered in a later episode but the way it ended I got the impression that the monster wouldn't really be addressed anymore Another problem I had with the episode is that I'm really not enjoying this relationship with Clara and Mr. Pink. In fact I'm finding his whole character quite annoying. I said on another forum this episode had a weird sense of absence to it, like I was waiting for it to start. You put it better than I did, it was pretty much my feelings exactly. Ditto, that's the perfect way to put it.

I think it was an interesting experiment, to do a story where it was completely ambiguous whether or not there was a monster. Somewhere between Midnight and The Edge Of Destruction. Think it was worth doing the once just to give it a go, although I can understand if it's more of a Marmite episode. Sticking my main criticism under a spoiler, since it is the big surprise of the episode: {Spoiler}Clara encountering a young Theta Sigma and giving him a ‘dream’ that later played on his subconscious and leads to the events of the episode = GOOD.
Clara giving him a pep talk that apparently inspires him to be the Doctor in the first place including some shoehorned in classic quotations that are apparently now her words = BAD.
The sad thing is, this isn't the first time Moffat's done the exact same thing. Look at Name Of The Doctor.
Clara going back through the Doctor’s timestream and stopping the Great Intelligence as he tries to subvert history, sort of making Dragonfire’s infamous cliffhanger make sense in the process = GOOD.
Clara being the one to make the Doctor choose his TARDIS, the one constant of the show, as well as contradicting The Doctor's Wife, one of the best loved episodes of the current era = BAD.
I like Clara, but I do get a bit annoyed that Moffat seems to think she has to be at the centre of everything, inserting his own creations into every major point of Doctor Who's mythology, as if he's making it so that he'll never be forgotten. If he learnt a little restraint, I think both episodes would be much better.

I thought it was pretty damn good. Moffat is back to the stuff that made him become noticed as writer on the show, horror episodes based on really basic, childlike fears that everybody has or had at one point.
And it's not really Clara's words that inspire him in any way. It's his own words, repeated back to him through her, just slightly out of chronological order. So I'm fine with it.

Time Heist was a really fun episode, liked it a lot. The monster was a good/threat and the dynamics between all the characters worked well.

Again, reacting as I go.
So... is the Doctor supposed to still be suffering from regeneration sickness? Surely he knows what make-up and high-heels are by now?
Wow! That memory worm thing genuinely took me off guard and the thing with the woman's face was pretty creepy.
Er... were Doctor, Clara and Co. trapped by Jigsaw? Cyberpunk Jigsaw? Because that would be kind of awesome.
The bespectacled woman looks A LOT like Missy, I presume this is not a coincidence.
I already thought the dude with electronic parts had a Shadowrun vibe, and now he's basically saying he's a decker. Seriously, if this turns out to be a Shadowrun/Saw crossover this might be the best Doctor Who episode ever.
Aw man, that monster looks sweet! Doctor Who has come such a long way in terms of special effects.
EW!!
Okay, whose idea was it to shine a bright f'n light right into the camera while the Doctor is making his explanation about the memory wipe? You're not J.J. Abrams and it doesn't look good when HE does it either.
Oh I'm sorry, is the bank robber giving people moral lessons? Yeah, how dare Clara and the Doctor focus on the task at hand and try to ensure the surviving members of the group make it out okay? I like you so far, mate, don't ruin it.
Heh, heh, I see what you did there with the references to past Doctor Who villains. It's kinda cute that they even showed the fart potatoes from Series 1.
So... couldn't the decker (I'm not good with names in case you haven't noticed) have just erased the criminals he just downloaded from his memory to drive the monster away, then re-downloaded them in order to keep it distracted and possibly even save himself once Clara and the Doctor are done?
So, I guess it's the classic villain mistake, but why isn't the bank owner wiping out the Doctor and Clara's minds right away? She wants to kill them anyway so... why wait and give them a chance to escape if not take her out?
Also, I'd like to say I f'n love the guards' armour. These things look badass.
The whole time I thought the decker's face reminded me of somone but I couldn't remember who. I just figured it ou: he looks an awful like Rod from Birdemic of all people! Thankfully he's a better actor.
"De-shut up" is a saying I need to include in my vocabulary.
Something tells me this is not the last we've seen of the decker and the shape-shifting woman.
This episode definitely made up for the last one in my opinion. Easily the best one of the season and I would argue one of the best ones of the new show period! This is really what Doctor Who should be all about: bizarre, hard to predict and kind of creepy at times. I might need to re-watch it at some point though as I feel I missed some of the more intricate aspects of the plot.

Stupid question alert, when our heroes were by the deposit boxes and the monster caught up with then it did cut to them standing in the office right? Were we meant to believe the monster somehow detained them in some type of mind trap and called the security team? If so why? Did it know what would eventually happen?
I thought there was going to be more of a timey wimey twist (or memory worm twist) because of that which sort of undermined the episode.

It was a much better episode than last week, but it felt all rushed and didnt stop long enough to make me care for the shape shifter and the cyborg bloke, nor did I give a crap what the bank owner was doing or feeling bad about not doing or whatever.
I miss two parters.

I miss two parters. I don't actually think it felt rushed but I do agree with you that it could have been even better as a two-parter, especially as you said to develop the supporting cast a bit more. In fact, it's a bit of a shame that the only two-parter of the season will be for the finale.

Keeley Hawes. No more needs to be said. She deserved better than what was essentially a glorified cameo

Another problem I had with the episode is that I'm really not enjoying this relationship with Clara and Mr. Pink. In fact I'm finding his whole character quite annoying. Danny Pink seems like a nice enough guy. Clara, on the other hand, is kind of an asshole. And I say that as a dude who has an unbearable crush on Jenna Coleman.

Enjoyed this episode quite a bit. Despite the production values not really living up to the rest of the series (USB cord works as a projector now, and the same corridor lit in different colours doesn't make it a different corridor) I thought the cast were excellent, and I wouldn't mind seeing Psi and Saibra turning up again. Doctor and Clara's interactions were fun rather than insulting, and the twist was decent. It was better when it was done pretty much exactly the same in Hide last year, but I thought that was the best episode in years, so there are worse episodes to copy. Oh, and we got a TV appearance for Abslom Daak: Dalek Killer! I can forgive any flaws just for that alone. She deserved better than what was essentially a glorified cameo But I got to see her, that was enough. Throwing in a recommendation for the made-for-TV movie "Hotel!", which featured Capaldi and Hawes, along with McGann as a bonus. It's over the top comedy with a ton of puns and visual gags, and well worth a watch. Needless to say, this episode gave both of them a bit more gravity.

Really liked Time Heist, certainly much more than the week prior which fell really flat for me. While Capaldi's been great so far, this was the episode, with the exchange below, where for the first time I thought "This feels like The Doctor", or rather "This feels like THIS Doctor". The Doctor: What? Saibra is dead, we are alive – prioritise if you want it to stay that way.
Psi: Oh, is that why you call yourself the Doctor – the professional detachment?
The Doctor: Listen, when we’re all done here, by all means, you go and find yourself a shoulder to cry on. You’ll probably need that. Till then, what you need is me!Another problem I had with the episode is that I'm really not enjoying this relationship with Clara and Mr. Pink. In fact I'm finding his whole character quite annoying. Danny Pink seems like a nice enough guy. Clara, on the other hand, is kind of an asshole. And I say that as a dude who has an unbearable crush on Jenna Coleman. One of the things, I'm not enjoying is how he's constantly starting and stopping his sentences. I suppose I'm supposed to find it endearing in that he's all flustered around Clara but I just find it annoying. But hey, while I'm not feeling the character so far, I've done 180's on characters before so I'm open to having my mind changed.

Finally, got around to watching Time Heist last night was a good episode even if I called a lot of the plot points before it happened {Spoiler}the doctor being the architect, the hacker and shapeshifter not being dead, the bank owner being in the Private Vault, and the Doctor being there to save the Teller That being said it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the episode because it was still done well in my opinion. On another note my brother is almost done with this series though he's enjoyed all of two episodes so far Robin Hood and this one... he didn't like last weeks and the season opener... and he completely forgot about the Dalek episode. Anybody else think that Danny is really the Master? No, I get the feeling that he's going to be the second Companion of this series.

Yeah, I don't think Clara and Danny have any chemistry. She says "I love him!" and I'm like "Really?"

I'm still trying to figure out why they named him "Danny Pink." Unless he turns out to be Steve Buscemi all along, I can't see the point.

Just finished watching Time Heist.
If ever there was an episode that needed to be a two-parter that was it. Good episode with an awesome monster but it was just too rushed. The hacker's sacrifice seemed silly considered he had like 4 lines with Clara. Other than being rushed, I loved it.
So far this series has been really good although I don't like Clara at all. She's very annoying and justa dull character. Just watching episode 6 now.
