Was just sort of thinking about this the other day. Even if you start with his WWF days and discard everything prior...this guys had so many different physiques. When he first came to the WWF in 1984 he was sort of big, husky even. But not really that ripped by WM 3 he was slightly leaner with a little bit more muscle definition By 1989 he was even leaner with long hair (They Live era) By 1991-1992 he was almost skinny looking but had more cut lean muscle. Long hair again When he came back in 1994 to wrestle lawler he was probably in the best shape of his life. When he went to WCW in 1996 he looked noticeably thicker, but not fat yet. Closer to his WWF debut physique but slightly flabbier In the late 90's the gut started to appear By 2003 he was pale, short haired and "skinny fat" just look at his WM 19 cameo. He also appeared to have shrunk a bit By 2005-2006 he was embarrassingly fat. But with a beard and long hair 2008 Royal Rumble. Massive gut, biker shorts. Looked kind of sad, but still entertaining

I think he probably looked his worst right after he game back around WM 19-so bad that I think Vince accused him of looking pregnant. since then, he's looked pretty good for the most part--with some obvious flabbiness every now and again. Tough that picture from the Rumble at the bottom is not very flattering.

Yes he has but I remember his first match in WCW he came out in shape again. People knock on Piper for getting out of shape but forget what he dealt with in these years. in 2002 he spent most of the year recovering from a broken back from a near fatal car accident. hard to work out with that happening. Not only they but his hip replacements, age, and well the guy clearly wasn't ever a body builder to start with. 08 pictured you have to take in the year before he was battling cancer. Honestly for what he been through, I say he looks fine.

He looks like Sandman with dark hair in the one where he's really fat.

Nothing beats the first WrestleMania version of Piper. He was like the school bully, then in the early 90's he became the zany uncle who everyone hoped wouldn't be able to make it to the family reunion.

During his Hollywood phase between WM3 and WM5, he got absolutely ripped for a short while, as well.

in Dynamite Kid's book he claims that Piper stopped using steroids cold turkey at some point around 86 (I haven't read the book in a while so the year may be off) and gave Dynamite his remaining stash. that could coincide with some of his early changes.

Timeline wise what you're saying makes sense as he did start to lean out that year (he looked leaner at WM3 than he did at 1) Though I wonder if he started up again on the roids when in his early days of WCW, he looked bulkier around 1996.
