If I can vent a little about something that happened today.
I went to a Bret Hart signing today. I got there and got on line a little after 630. It was a long line. To make a boring story short I learned that I needed an arm band thing that a person gets from buying the dvd over there to be guarnteed an autograph. It was too late to leave the line and buy one. It was scheduled to go til 8 and I got to the inside the story line at 755 and they wouldn't let me in. Now I'm mad and disapointed.
Don't know if anyone cares but I needed to vent.

I think it was the store policy. Its not like there were a thousand others behind me so they had to just do the select few. Nice way to lose a customer. I should write somebody about this.

So basically you needed to purchase the dvd to be allowed to meet him, correct? Were you informed of this before hand? Maybe a sign in the front of the store? That does suck. i'd be pissed. I think if I got there a bit earlier maybe I could but I passed by there and the big sign had some writing but I didn't read it since it was a bit small and I was in a hurry to get to the end of the line. I figured since I got there within 8 I would get in but no. If I didn't have school to go to before.

Yea. It happens. I've been a victim of that on a few occasions also. Sorry to read it though. Definitely a buzz kill. Thank you for your sympthy it means so much. I hate buzzkills since I always think about crappy stuff in my life.

Pisses me off when people are treated this way. On both sides of the fence. People put so much emphasis on "celebrities" that it's like this huge honor to get to meet this person, you have to stand in line, pay money, or whatever... it's BS. No one person is any more important than anyone else. Not the President, not the Pope, not Dan Rather, and certainly not Bret freakin Hart.

If he had seen Bret in the street rather than a scheduled signing, I'm pretty sure that there's a 99% chance he would have gotten an autograph and Bret would have been happy (unless he was doing something else other than walking) to give it to him. EDIT : According to an article in WWE magazine, a lot of wrestlers are like that. You see them in the street, you recognize them and are not a total asshat, they'll sign you an autograph and be happy for it.

wrestlers are not the same as celebrities for the most part, in their attitude. They perform in front of a live, usually jam packed audience so they know first hand that the fans are their reason for being there and it's rare that a wrestler, unless their busy or in a bad mood, would turn down a fan. As far as this incident goes, bret would have had little if any decision for the store protocol so IBleedPurple, in all due respect, your comments are unfounded and out of line. You don't blame the santa because the store only lets little kids sit on his lap, so don't blame bret. Also, it's not so much that they're more important, just more identifiable so it gives people the oppurtunity to share a story with friends and such that they met someone that they all heard of. Something, i might add, happens periodically on this board. as for you theone666, i do feel bad from you but hey, you got a story out of it
