Jordan Zimmermann spun 6 2/3 shutout frames in Sunday's 3-0 victory over the Mets.

A's now 2-8 in the last 10. If they missed the playoffs how much heat on Billy None. He got the best possible pieces he could for a long post season run. Pitching wins in the playoffs. I'd be curious to see what happens with Melvin. I don't think he's going anywhere, but I'd love to hear how much heat he takes.

O's and Nats could clinch their respective divisions by winning 2 out of 3 in their upcoming series against the Blue Jays (O's) and Braves (Nats).
Angels can clinch as well if Texas takes 2 out of 3 from the A's, and the Angels beat the Mariners twice as well.

The Athletics can have all the starting pitching in the world, as long as they can't scrape a run across the plate, what good does it do them to have these aces?

Jacon deGrom tied the MLB modern day record by K'ing the first 8 batters of a game. Overall record is 9 by HOF'er Mickey Welch.
Most K's consecutive anytime during the game is still Tom Terrific with 10.

Bryce Harper left Monday's game versus the Braves due to lightheadedness.

Braves made it interesting in the 9th. I really hope Soriano is left off the NLDS roster, there's no way you can trust this guy at this point. He had a 4-0 lead heading into the 9th and the Braves almost came back and tied it. Nats win 4-2, magic number is down to 2 and they can clinch with a win tomorrow night.
And as I type this, the O's just defeated the Blue Jays. Their magic number is now down to 1.

Holy Toledo! Jose Altuve 1st player with 206+ hits, 42+ doubles and 52+ steals since Ty Cobb in 1917 (225 hits, 44 doubles, 55 steals).

And the sad/horrible/depressing season for the Braves gets even worse.
They announced today that their new stadium will officially be called 'SunTrust Park'. Vomit.
I know a few season ticket holders and die hard fans who are just about ready to say 'f*** this team'. If BJ Upton, Fredi Gonzalez, and Frank Wren are still apart of the team next season, I'd say that would be the straw to break the camel's back.

Alejandro De Aza with a bases clearing triple. This guy has been huge for the Orioles, a very underrated move from the front office. They are 6 outs away from winning their first division title since 1997.

Now maybe the Nats are just the better team, but the Braves have owned them the last couple of seasons. It'll be a fun division to watch for sure, b/c the Mets are close to being .500 without Matt Harvey. Roark pitched lights out, and it will be very interesting what the discussion is in DC regarding Roark and Gio, and who will be in the NLDS rotation out of the two of them.

The injuries were rough, but the Braves' offense is just hot garbage and it has been for a long time. A lot of the Atlanta beat writers are saying there's going to be major shakeups in the offseason. If they don't fire Fredi Gonzalez, they're going to lose a ton of fan support. They need a completely new coaching staff and they need a new GM. Wren has made some horrible signings that have screwed the Braves in various ways. BJ Upton and Dan Uggla are just a couple of them.

I remember a bunch of us were wondering what led to Ron Washington suddenly resigning as Rangers manager. It looks as if we may have found a reason why I read that as "What led to Ron Wasserman suddenly resigning as Rangers manager" for a split second there.
