For anybody who has played Megaman Unlimited, which admittedly may not be many people here, I've got two words for ya.
Yoku Man.
Imagine an entire level built around the gimmick of those disappearing blocks. It's exactly as bad as you can imagine.

Magaki technically prevents KoFXI being classified as a game. It ain't interactive, it's just a VT of outright torture. I ABHOR Magaki! Though I have still yet to fight Igniz, of whom I have heard horror stories, Magaki was without a doubt impossible to beat. I remember was so close to beating him once and then I still lost. It's like KOF XI is cursed that it doesn't WANT you to beat the game.

SNK Bosses. I was playing The King of Fighters: Dream Match 1999 on my Dreamcast, and I was doing pretty great with Iori, despite using the d-pad. I reached Rugal, and he whooped my ass. Magaki in KOF XI is an asshole. Mizuchi was a pain in the ass in NeoGeo Battle Coliseum. Yet, the final boss in KOF: Maximum Impact 2 was pretty easy... Street Fighter Alpha 3 (PlayStation): The second time you face Final Bison in World Tour will give you frustration. Before you even face him again, you gotta go through two Sagats, Vega, and Cammy. While I agree the last Bison on World Tour is a pain, I played the everloving shit out of that game and found the AI got seriously repetitive regardless of difficulty setting, and boss Bison was no exception. See him doing a hand dive (specifically, JUST the hand dive and not the head stomp to hand dive) and his meter's full? Welp, better get ready to block because his super will ALWAYS be coming out as soon as he hits the ground. Outside of making sure not to be hit by that (since it'll absolutely ruin your chances if it's not blocked) it wasn't that bad. Also, crouching roundhouses all day erry day, since for some reason the AI has trouble handling them. Now Shin Akuma (who comes shortly after that fight if your level's high enough) on the other hand...mannnnnnn whattabitch.

Speaking of Shin Akuma, I actually reached him in Capcom vs. SNK 2 with the team of Bison, Mai, and Iori, and I got curb-stomped badly by him. Though, Osaka in Flames looks pretty awesome.

Playing 95% of modern fighting games on a console without an arcade controller. Seriously, go and get funked, Street Fighter IV, you absolute victory pillaging waste of time. Seriously, the copyright on a GOOD d-pad has ruined playing most fighting games on an Xbox 360 or PS3. And I can't afford a few hundred quid/dollars on a piece of fancy plastic for three or so games...or two sets of fancy plastic in order to play against fellow fight fans. I can't even enjoy Marvel vs Capcom 2 on the XBLA! I just have to listen to the character select screen 15 second loop theme over and over to get my rush... Yeah, some of those Super/Ultra inputs are ridiculous. I did recently find out about "shortcuts" for Guile and Vega's Ultras, which helped an ass-load.

It's not that hard if you switch cars. Park a hotring racer or a cheetah across the street from the police station and then run to the Malibu to start the mission. Or park a truck down the road in front of where he'll drive and watch him crash. T'was a bitch of a mission. And then I struggled for ages with the shooting range mission. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}And then Hillary gets himself shot the second he appears during the heist. Stupid f***er. Never tried blocking his path, but it worked for the El Burro races in GTA 3. I'll have to try that. For the first part of the shooting range I shoot out all but one piece of the closest 2 targets, then just shoot the farthest target. Gives you a pretty clean shot at the target worth the most points, then finish the closer two off at the very end.

My video game of the moment is Rocksmith, and I'm working on bass slides. I SUCK at it, and it has caused me to invent many obscene combinations for the system, my bass, and the tv itself.

Bison in Street Fighter II used to frustrate me to no end. But none was more frustrating than Vega with his constant cheap aerial attacks, slams, and how he was literally all over the place so using distant attacks were virtually useless against him.

Assassin's Creed 2 is a fantastic game, and one of my all-time favourites, but why Ubisoft chose to not allow replaying of missions is beyond me. I bought the two DLC sequences (12 and 13), played through the game for 25 hours only for it to skip past sequence 12 and go straight to sequence 13, so the only way to go back and play sequence 12 is to start all over again.

"All we had to do was follow the damn train, CJ!" I can't believe people have problems with this mission. Stay on the right during the first part, then move over to the left side when you get a chance. It took me a few tries to realize I was staying too close to the train, you need to be a little ways away so Smoke can get a good angle to shoot.

I remember the mission "Supply Lines" in GTA San Andreas was a pain until I learned how to fly a plane in the game. After that, it got easier, but the worst part was the fuel running out, not to mention having to fly back to base after taking out those delivery trucks.

Trust me, anyone who has played GTA San Andreas to 100% can tell you that the hardest mission in the game is Quarry level 7, but most people don't bother with these side missions...but I can't explain in enough detail how broke the mission is and how easy it is to f*** up.
And this is coming from someone who would sneak into unlocked territory like San Fiero to do the PCJ blip collecting jumps with a 4 star rating...at the beginning of the game without dying or getting busted.

But since this is the first time you even use planes in the game, it's understandable how most people have problems with it.

Soul Calibur 3's Tales of Souls mode is a pain in the ass from start to finish. You have random QTEs sprinkled throughout it. Abyss is up there with SNK bosses based on how hard he can be to defeat. One of the cool things about beating the damn mode is getting the in-game endings. Just when you thought you can sit back and watch the ending, there goes another QTE, and whether you respond to the prompt or not, you'll get two variants to a character's ending, which is pretty interesting. The worst thing about Tales of Souls is that you cannot adjust the difficulty, making it more frustrating for any player that simply wants to unlock the rest of the characters. That reminds me... my brother's favorite mode from all of Soul Calibur was Chronicles of the Sword... which I agree was awesome... BUT the last board of that mode was damn near impossible. If I'm thinking of the right one, for the last Chronicles of the Sword area the thing I found easiest was to not fight any of the enemies, but just rush them with every character and let them fight it out on the map. The enemies don't move, so it's easy to just rush all your characters. Keep the main character moving last because your people will take some damage. You should make it to the last guy with a few people at near perfect health.

It's happened to me a few times, but funnier when it happens to a friend or my brother during our yearly tournaments.
NES Tecmo Super Bowl (or, if you will, the Tecmo '13 relaunch, which my brother bought from their site with updated rosters for the 2012 season).
You have a decent lead in the playoffs, up by at least 17 points going into halftime. No matter how good you think you are, there are going to be times when:
-Your stud RB is going to get hit and fumble on a crucial play. -Your star PR/KR will get injured. -You will get picked off 2-3 times, at least once for a pick-6. (Sometimes you get a "Brett Favre" mode, where - like the expected nWo run-in in 1997-98 at the end of a Nitro - you channel Favre and throw a pick on 4th and 26 with no time left to go.) -And at least 4 times in that second half, you will choose the exact play the computer chose, yet they are able to escape and run for a TD.
Your supposedly safe 17 point lead becomes a 14 point loss.
***
Let's also mention NES RBI Baseball (1988 version), a game with so many odd glitches, it had it's own website. Home runs that are clearly foul, home runs going through walls, bunting for home runs (ball rolls just fast enough your two controllable fielders can't catch up to it), etc. Oh, and the "clunk" errors at crucial moments.
