She'd replace...King? He'll be 65 next year, how much longer can he keep going? Pat Summerall, NFL commentator, was doing play-by-play into his 70's when he retired. Difference between Summerall and King is that Pat was actually still a good commentator in his 70's. King has been phoning it in since he returned in November 2001.

Ideal stetup for me (off the top of my head):
Cole/Cabana/Nash, RAW
Phillips/Young/Regal, Smackdown
Vince in a retirement home.
Sadly Jibbles is ruined for me now even though I imagine he'd probably be better without Vince's ear screaming.

Well, no, her commentary on women's matches isn't very good, but on the main roster their matches are 3 minutes long so she won't have as much time to say stupid stuff ahahaohgod

I've heard from other people that she isn't really that good on commentary. Maybe it's inexperience but let's not over-exaggerate how great she is at it because she's new. And let's not forget if she moves to Raw or Smackdown chances are she'll have Vince yelling in her ear.

WrestleMania LX will be his final show, with the main event being fellow 95 year old Ric Flair versus WWE Champ John Cena. (Off topic but, after seeing your username and putting 2 and 2 together, much thanks for your work on Fire Pro among other things )

I'm happy to see Renee's star on the rise. She's great as an interviewer and seems to have a ton of enthusiasm in her work. However, I'm not sold on her as acommentator still. She's decent on NXT, but she repeats the same tropes too often. She's definitely a fresh voice, but she still has a way to go.

I think Renee's biggest strength is that she's very easy to play off of. I think that's why people like doing segments with her. I think if that can transfer over to commentary and whoever she's announcing with develop good chemistry, she can only get better.

She's pretty good on NXT, she really hit all the right notes, whether knowing when to praise somebody or not when to do it, being shocked but not exagerating and she seems more knowledgeable that the entire RAW crew. Then again, maybe on RAW it would be a whole new ball game cause NXT is known as the little thing that Vince and the other morons leave alone.

Renee can be god-awful on commentary at NXT, but that's because she's for some reason trying to get over a persona of "bitches is crazy, am I right, fellas? I'm the cool chick you like hanging out with!" If she drops that, she'll probably be fine. This. She really needs to drop that.

Yeah it is inexperience, she has her flaws but it's to be expected after only calling a handful of full NXT episodes. A jump to a three hour live Raw right now would probably be too much which is why they're building up her hours slowly. However (outside women's matches and Breeze on guest commentary) she's already good and always seems professional, as others have said she plays off others well, has a natural enthusiasm, does research (I'm looking at you Riley) and usually manages to strike the right tone so with some more practice she could be great. That said she really shines as an interviewer so if I was in charge of WWE I'd increase her presence in that role to the levels Mean Gene used to have. They clearly don't trust new wrestlers to go off script but may trust somebody as professional as Renee to steer them and make sure they don't go too far, the recent AJ and Paige segment could have gone a lot better if Renee was at the helm.

She's too laid back. She might ruin RAW..I'd prefer Tensai to be honest. I know it sounds like a train wreck but every King should be replaced by a Prince Albert.

I think she'd be able to pull off the shilling better than Cole can, because her enthusiasm for the product tends to make her feel like she's on the same level as the fans in a way Cole has never managed.

I like Albert on commentary, especially recently. Nerves still seem to get to him a little bit, but he's getting better and better. But this brings up: If they're going to recruit Raw announcers from NXT, who on earth not the person who's the very best at selling the story of a match, William Regal? Or did I just answer my own question.

How confused will people be when Renee does commentary on RAW and people start having to say she sucks? I mean we're not going to pretend JBL just magically became bad the exact instant he switched to RAW because that just happened to be the day he lost it, right? Jibble was pretty great right when he came back. Over time, he devolved into current Jibble. Renee has a lot more improving to do, so I don't think it will be so WHAM! now she sucks, she's on Raw!

We keep saying Raw, but my guess is she'll be promoted to Smackdown before the year is up. And then next year she'll replace 65 year old Lawler when WWE releases his DVD compilation of his career/Memphis wrestling. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! She's perfect to play off of Cole and JBL.

Or did I just answer my own question. While he's probably the best commentary option they have I assume HHH wants Regal to concentrate on other roles mostly within developmental, can't really blame him for that as there's a lot he can teach people and few better to assess talent. Which leads to the question does anybody know exactly what Regal's current backstage role is?
