Chris Jericho and Christian are both going for the briefcase, fighting atop the ladder in a valiant attempt to claim the contract. But before either can Edge swoops in with a steel chair, waylaying them both and sending them crashing down the the mat! Edge climbs the ladders, unhooks the briefcase, and thus becomes the first ever Mr. Money in the Bank!
Fast forward to New Year's Revolution 2006. John Cena, the current WWE Champion, has just come off a huge upset by retaining his title in the Elimination Chamber match. However after the match Vince McMahon makes his way out from the back, proclaiming that Edge is cashing in their MitB briefcase! Tired from that previous ordeal, Cena has no choice but to watch on as his opponent charges down to the ring, intent on making sure he walks away as champion.
So the question is will the Rated-R Superstar set the tone for all future briefcase holders here tonight, or will Cena overcome the odds and survive yet another hurdle?
