That seems to get whitewashed.
There's not even any mention on TNA's wiki page of it.

I do remember, I watched the early shows back when I first got word about TNA (November/December 2002), and they were WrestleCraptastic. Cheex, The Johnsons, Rainbow Express with Joel Gertner had potential though.

Also that name is an oxymoron, it's like having a soap opera called "Day or Our Lives and Weapons". Two ideas that clashes against each other. No wonder how TNA never knew what they were about.

It was slowly phased out. Towards the end of them using the NWA's titles, they weren't even referring to the NWA name. It was just the "world title"

TNA actually posted videos online of the NWA Champions swapping their NWA Title Belts for TNA Title belts. Team 3D come to get their belts after they just worked this long angle centered around "wrestling's most decorated tag team" finally winning "wrestling's most prestigious tag team title" in the form of the NWA World Tag Team Titles and then they just go ahead and swap them for the TNA belts (something Bully Ray jokingly made note of in his promo).

And the NWA is thankful for that... The state the NWA is in it wishes it was still affiliated with TNA. At this point they should start affiliating with each other again. It could be beneficial to both parties. The NWA needs a boost, and TNA desperately needs to rebrand.

The NWA needs a boost, and TNA desperately needs to rebrand. I don't think it benefits TNA in any way to re-affiliate with NWA. The NWA is a burned out husk of its former self and TNA dropped their branding altogether because they outgrew NWA and wanted to establish its own identity. And for the most part, it's worked.

The NWA being a husk of its former self means no one goes LOLNWA every thirty seconds, while the TNA name has been dragged through the mud and constantly mocked. And the NWA business model is dead; so it needs to find a decent sized promotion to host its titles so that they can be held by bigger names instead of relying on no hopers who can't even get booked on "Former WWE Superstar" status. Everyone talks about how TNA needs to ditch the TNA name. Merging and forming a single promotion simply called NWA can do it.

As bad as the TNA name is, associating with a dead brand like the NWA wouldn't help them at all. It would make a lot more sense for TNA to re-brand itself as Impact Wrestling. It's already the name of their tv show and website, so it would be a relatively smooth transition similar to JCP becoming WCW.

Didn't Russo say the original idea was to do an adult-themed wrestling company?

I remember RVD had a design based on the old logo on his gear.
