Funny thing about this, was that Namco wasn't gonna announce it yet, they were going to announce a different game (probably TxSF), but IGN spoiled the fun.

Hold up, I'm about to take a trip down insane lane...
My sister loves Tekken(I do too, but not on her level), so she can explain the entire canon story of the games from memory. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Kazuya gain his powers by making a deal with the Devil after Heihachi threw him off a cliff? So, going by that trailer, we're now to assume that Kazuya was born with his powers? Inherited from his mother. Alright, fine... But she sure took her sweet ass time deciding whether or not to stop her husband.. Hey lady, the guy threw your son off a cliff, then survived being thrown into a volcano by your son, unleashed an ancient beast into the world, has a father that's somehow even more powerful than he is, and he has tried to murder your son and grandson multiple times.
I understand weighing your options, but this is ridiculous.

I understand weighing your options, but this is ridiculous. Originally, yes Kazuya did make a literal deal with the devil to survive when Heihachi nearly killed him, but it was Tekken 4 who introduced the Devil Gene thing. However, Kazuya's mother died in childbirth, and that's actually one of the main reasons Heihachi hated Kazuya from birth since he blamed him for her death, as he loved her. And with how the footage of the start looks all grainy, I'm thinking it's a flashback, and not in present-time in the story.

Um, I always thought all Mishima family members were born with the Devil powers, but they're dormant and Heihachi threw Kazuya specifically to awaken them? After all, Jin's powers also kicked in when he was near death. I agree with S.C.Amigo's theory that the footage of her in the trailer is probably a flashback. In fact... maybe SHE was the start of the Devil gene, hm? Also, can we finally admit the painfully obvious that Jun isn't actually dead? And yeah, "the final battle", yeah right. I believe that like I believed that Tomb Raider IV was "The Last Revelation", that Metal Gear Solid 2 was totally meant to be the last game in the series, Friday the 13th IV was "The Final Friday" and "Final Fantasy" was anything but a cool name.

I think you'll find that I don't get hype, I stay hype.
Nevertheless, looks to be awesome. Although I will say, I hope they don't decide to make everyone speak English. Having the cast speak in various different languages always entertained me.

I could see this as the final battle between Heihachi & Kazuya to be honest. One kills the other (and the other stays dead not plays dead) and it allows Tekken to move on in the story.

The Mishimas make the McMahons- not the real life McMahons, I'm talking about the rotten McMahons in storylines- look like freaking Care Bears.
By the trailer, I'm guessing Kazuya is the protagonist again this time? I didn't mind Lars as a character, but he wasn't as fun to play as.

Perhaps her face has been affected by the gene.

Kazuya, or the rest of his family, should not speak English.

It'll still be Jin after what had happened at T6 weren't what you expected it to be. But mind you this looks to be the final time we either see Kazuya or/and Heihachi. But I am very very interested on what Kazumi Mishima will bring.

Nonetheless, YES YES YES!

Good trailer, it has my interest. But please, don't make every character to speak english! i love how they speak with their native tongue and understand each other anyway.

Mishima's can never really be faces. Well, the male members at least. Asuka hasn't done anything too bad.
Yet.
