Okay, since Heyman is apparently gone from his side...what the f*** did they do to him? They absolutely destroyed him beyond repair.

He "lost competitively", got put over on the mic in Germany when his real name was used, then won the ATG Battle Royal then...turned on Swagger but both of them stayed heel, joined Heyman and stopped doing any of those things that got him over.

Add him to the long list of guys who were over with the crowd and had great momentum before WWE stalled their progress with poor booking decisions.

I hadn't seen Cesaro for a while, as I stopped watching for a few weeks. And here I see him tonight in some generic looking gear, with his terrible new-ish music, and watch him get booked like a complete oaf, and I can't believe how they have ruined everything unique about him. I know there's a lot of directionless anger that gets tossed around within the confines of the IWC sometimes, but my oh my, has WWE dropped the ball with Cesaro. I mean, the Heyman experiment could have worked if they went about it subtly. But all they did was force Cesaro into the bland aggressive heel role until tonight where it seems like Heyman has dropped him out of the blue.
I'm almost scared that he's getting suspended or released or something. Everything I saw tonight screams, "Creative has nothing for you." What was the point of having him win the AtGMBR if there was no endgame?

Its a telling sign when three and a half months after Mania, Jack Swagger is the one getting the big babyface pops, while Cesaro flounders around directionless.

They've jobbed the hell out of him to prepare him to win the IC title on Sunday, so that fans won't be shocked by the sudden transition to jobber that befalls all IC title holders.
And this will make him a star because...uhm.....check back later.

They dropped Antonio from his name because it "wasn't manly" or some stupid bullshit like that. Then after getting the crowd organically behind him via The Real Americans, he won the WM30 Andre Royal and left Zeb/Swagger. Then they paired him with Heyman in a way which seemed like a face turn. After this rise, they gave him generic unfitting music, forced a heel turn that felt completely unnecessary, and they (for the most part) took away the Cesaro Swing, which is what helped him get over in the first place. Then they had Paul Heyman talk about Brock Lesnar a lot and had Cesaro lose both matches and his momentum.
It's baffling how stupidly simple Cesaro's face turn should've been.

Pairing him up with Heyman could have been the start of something great.

Honestly, it seems like everyone's in a rut, not just Cesaro.

Pairing him up with Heyman could have been the start of something great. That only ever happened with Lesnar in kayfabe unfortunately. Ryback went from a world beater top babyface to nothing with Heyman (well, just before that, but still...) Curtis Axel was WORSE (and still is, frankly) then McGillicutty somehow CM Punk was a co-main eventer with Cena as a massive face, and the company threw everything to make people boo him. Didn't work. Stock dropped, got stuck in storyline awfulness until taking time off. Heyman managing people is absolutely horrendous unless we're talking WCW era-Dangerous Alliance.

Heyman was fresh off Lesnar beating Undertaker, Cesaro was fresh off the WM battle royal-pairing him with Heyman should have been a way to further his momentum. Logically, he should have won the US or IC title afterward and maybe even won Money in the Bank.

Curtis Axel was WORSE (and still is, frankly) then McGillicutty somehow While he's not as entertaining as he was with Dirty Curty, being a jobber on Raw/PPV trumps being a jobber on NXT/Superstars.

I remember having extreme doubts about Heyman managing Cesaro at all because the latter was getting a great babyface reaction and the WWE have done everything to make the former get booed as much as possible. It was a questionable pairing from the start, now made all the worse because nothing's happened with him.

From Curtis Axel's angle I can see that, but I honestly think he was the single worst wrestler on the entire roster in terms of spectacle/presence/average moveset, and I still believe that to this day. Ryback's jerk presence which still gets chants (his Feed Me More shoulder movement before the meathook clothesline) is Curtis Axel's only crutch. Moving someone up when they aren't ready damages them in fans eyes, it just screams 'doing this as a favour as Heyman/Triple H/Vince McMahon adored Mr Perfect'.

He was white hot in February after beating Orton in that match...and it's all been downhill from there.

I am hoping he is Heyman's plan C but don't expect it. Either way, I fully expect him to win the IC title because this is just the backwards bullshit they do with that belt.

I don't think Cesaro is as bad off as Axel was. Axel was blatantly made to look like a goof. At least they acknowledge that Cesaro has megastar potential no matter how often they screw up with him.

All part of WWE's plan to dismantle the "Paul Heyman Guy" idea.

Yeah he had babyface momentum heading into Mania and after, but since then it has gone downhill, that slam on the Big Show should of been the making of him, obviously not.
