Right now Cesaro winning the IC title on Sunday doesn't really make much sense. The guy is clearly in the midst of a losing streak storyline that is leading to him cutting ties with Heyman and going full on babyface. So how does winning the IC title play into it?
Ever since WM Cesaro has been bar none the worst booked guy in WWE. The problem with all of these guys Heyman has managed since 2012 is that by and large they are placeholders until Brock gets back and Heyman can manage a real star. Putting Cesaro with Heyman was just a vehicle to keep Heyman on TV blathering about the Streak and not any meaningful way to get Cesaro over.

I'm done with Cesaro for the moment, he'll still have good matches but I found myself bored with him tonight. Big E and Kofi were more interesting.

It's hard to believe how badly they have bungled his push. He was absolutely on fire coming out of WrestleMania, and week by week his heat has diminished. He should be a top 3 to 5 babyface right now, but instead he's nowhere, probably getting a meaningless IC Title win. I love Heyman, but I knew putting him with Cesaro was a mistake. The second he announced himself as a Paul Heyman Guy, my heart sunk, and its only gotten worse.

Wait, did they officially say Heyman and Cesaro were separated? There's a tiny chance Cesaro is Plan B.... err... C.

He's definitely not beyond repair. Have him swing a couple dudes, throw some uppercuts etc, and he's right back over.

I worried excessively when he was paired with Paul Heyman and was constantly being overshadowed by discussion of Brock Lesnar beating the Undertaker that Cesaro's stock was about to plummet. I was reassured numerous times that it was all part of some grand plan to get Cesaro to turn even faceier than he had been after winning the ATG Battle Royal.
I'm having serious doubts at this point.

I thought the idea of having Cesaro realize that Paul Heyman was only interested in Brock Lesnar's interests first, and really just using Cesaro to keep himself in the public eye while Brock sits at home for over half a year was such a no brainer, and that people would go bonkers when Cesaro turns face and swings Heyman, leading to Brock vs. Cesaro at a huge PPV show. Well, they sure went there with Cesaro being in Heyman's shadow, but the Lesnar vs. Cesaro angle seems to be lightyears away now.

I am hoping he is Heyman's plan C but don't expect it. Either way, I fully expect him to win the IC title because this is just the backwards bullshit they do with that belt. He was perfect as a Real American. Fast forward a few months, the Real Americans are over like crazy, and he's a relative dude. Heyman spent half the time as his manager promoting himself(Paul E) and Lesnar.

at this rate it will be a miracle if he wins it on sunday.

Boy did they ever screw that up.

As I said in another Thread. WrestleMania 30 was a Curse. Seriously.
Daniel Bryan won the world titles, Injured and he may need a SECOND Surgery, after a horrible feud with Kane.
The Shield won in dominating fashion, break up, now Seth Rollins may be Injured after getting a push.
Kane went from being where he belonged to a Main Event Focus.
Bad News Barrett got Injured and lost the title
Sheamus won the US Title and like Ambrose has done nothing with it.
Adam Rose is a thing
Great Khali is STILL a thing.
Cena won the title for the 15th Time
Cesaro won the Battle Royal. And joined with Paul Heyman at his most over peak and what happened? He's jobbing out and SWAGGER. F***ING SWAGGER is more over than him. SWAGGER. Let it sink in people.
Seriously, WrestleMania was a sign of great things to come and before we could even get excited for it, it all just DIED. And now we're here... watching the stars that should be in the World Title Picture, getting de pushed and it's just making us scratch our heads in annoyance and confusion
Something needs to be done backstage, Whether this be all Vince's fault or someone else's, something needs to be done, because it's beginning to feel like we're still in 2010 with whats happening right now, with no signs of progress...

What are wwe playing at? Why do they think jobbing will get people over? Losing streak angles always suck.

Watched Wrestlemania 30 last night for the first time and after watching him win the battle royal, the reaction he got and the handshake with Big Show after I'm scratching my head as to why he didn't turn face after that. Cesaro is suffering atm from WWE's stop start and while I'm sure he will get another push again how long will that one last until Vince gets bored again?

Well, they sure went there with Cesaro being in Heyman's shadow, but the Lesnar vs. Cesaro angle seems to be lightyears away now. Yeah, there was no way I figured that wasn't the endgame. Something like Cesaro winning the Money in the Bank title shot, Heyman still going on about Brock Lesnar, getting him a title shot first at Summerslam. Authority/Heyman stuff leads to Brock winning the title, and then Cesaro comes down, knocks out Heyman, cashes in and wins the belt. Brock gets the belt, but it's brief so you save his appearences, make a new babyface hero, everybody wins.

He's definitely not beyond repair. Have him swing a couple dudes, throw some uppercuts etc, and he's right back over. Indeed. If all else fails, have him bust out the UFO. I mean yeah, it does really suck that they killed all of his momentum coming out of WM, but Cesaro's not going under. The WWE clearly likes him, they just had a terrible idea on how to use him.

It's a work! It's the reality era! They already damaged cornerstones of the company like the reputation of the Royal Rumble and the prestige of a title unification to further short-term angles and get temporary heel heat so this is the next logical step. The chain goes like this.
Get people to invest in Cesaro until he's a firm fan favourite. Have Lesnar and Heyman break the streak in a terrible match and angle to get heat Pair Cesaro with Heyman and ruin everything people once liked about him in order to get more heat for Heyman Have The Shield face The Authority until they're the most over faces in years Break The Shield up and make Seth join The Authority so the later group gets more heat Align Heyman, Brock and The Authority so Orton absorbs the nuclear heat from all of them Orton wins the unified titles at Summerslam
This way Orton gets the heat for ending the streak, ruining Cesaro and breaking up The Shield, it's genius! He can then maintain that massive heat by retaining the title in a series of lacklustre matches with Reigns that all end with shitty screwjob finishes until he's the most hate person ever.
