I've wanted Rusev to essentially go completely undefeated until he faced a big challenge, but seeing the stuff lately on Raw, part of me kind of wants Jack Swagger to win just after all of this build up.
Because you know, Mercia and all that

Swagger. This angle is hot right now, why not use it to actually elevate someone instead of just keeping Rusev warm for Cena to feast on in the Fall?

Rusev should win at Battleground. Then Swagger trains hard for the rematch in Moscow.

SHOULD win? Swagger, imo. The crowd is eating him up right now and I think a loss will take away A LOT of his momentum.

Rusev should win at Battleground. Then Swagger trains hard for the rematch in Moscow. Nah, it's all good. Rusev has already killed Big E Apollo Creed, we can just skip to the blowoff now.

I honestly didn't care at all until the segment on Raw last night. After seeing that, yeah, I think Swagger should definitely win on Sunday.

Swagger. It'd be a nice boost for him.
Also, I think Rusev needs to lose his undefeated streak as soon as possible, because at least from here he'd still have some upward progression to make (title contention, Cena). If he loses that at the top, then it'll take a lot of effort to keep him from tumbling back down just as quick.

Swagger by KO after Rusev refuses to tap to the Patriot Lock and passes out from the pain because he won't tap even though Lana is telling him too. Both stay strong that way.

Honestly I'd stretch this out to Summerslam. Maybe something like Lana causing a distraction at Battleground leading to Rusev getting the victory. Then you can have Zeb demand a rematch, maybe even do it as a submission match or something like that.

Match at Battleground should go to a no contest. Swagger wins at Summerslam, though.

Rusev. As stupid as it is, his character needs to not lose to work, and I don't want the guy's career totally wrecked because his opponent in one angle actually got over as a face.

Rusev needs to lose soon. As long as they keep this USA/Russian thing going, whoever loses to him is going to look extremely weak after their feud ends. Big E had all of his wind kicked out of him from that feud. How can Swagger go around as a patriotic face if he loses to the main foreign heel on the roster?

The problem is that nobody counted on Swagger actually getting over as much as he did. I *want* Swagger to win. But I dont think he will.
If Rusev is going to win, I'd like to see a very hard fought 15 min match where Swagger just *barely* loses

I like the idea that they do a spot where both men are rendered unable to compete. Like a big spot off the entrance or collapsing the ring with a Superplex.
I don't think the feud is ready for a clean finish... and a simple DQ would be lame.

Swagger could build on it. Rusev could use it, kayfabe wise, to refocus; they could change up his gimmick a lil bit.
Swagger should win.

Hard to say really. Swagger got over huge here, but will that last if he's not fighting a guy that is running down America?
I think that Rusev should win, as his first loss should be in a tough fight against someone that actually matters, but then again if his first loss is against Cena or Reigns everyone will be bitching about that. WWE is in a pickle.

Swagger will win.
At SummerSlam.
Battleground will see Swagger passing out in the Camel Clutch refusing to tap.

Swagger will win. At Summerslam Battleground will see Swagger passing out in the Camel Clutch refusing to tap. Bam. That's how you make both guys look good. Rusev gets the'W' and Swagger looks like a tough S.O.B Swagger trains hard leading into Summerslam and picks up a couple of dominant victories along the way. He wins the rematch after hard fought, brutal gimmick match/ (Submission, strap match, something along those lines)

Rusev. As stupid as it is, his character needs to not lose to work, and I don't want the guy's career totally wrecked because his opponent in one angle actually got over as a face. I think losing now would be better for him. If he is undefeated until he gets fed to Cena, then he just looks like a Flavor of the Month and that could damage him even more.

The plan is to have Rusev squash Swagger (like he did in MSG) to lead to a run down the road with Cena. The funny thing is though that Swagger is white hot now in a time wherein WWE needs new faces, and if you sacrifice Swagger (who'll be reduced to nothing if he loses clean), there's still a great chance that Cena gets booed anyway and it all becomes worthless. Swagger. Rusev. Cena -- all benefit not one iota. In fact, 2 of the 3 are ruined because of it, and Cena is still the same polarizing meatball he always was who potentially can't even get a xenophobic crowd to hate him less than the "evil empire".
That's he main issue in WWE right now, they long term book to favor Cena (and now Reigns), but never think of the contingency that the alternatives might catch fire and get over huge in spite of their intended purpose of being the food that fattens up the monster so the golden ticket can slay him. It's sad.
