Vince needs to go, more than anything. In recent years his centering everything around what he wants to see is strangling the product to death.

Hell at this point, I think most people would take THINGS happening. I.E., it doesn't feel like the exact same show you watched the week before for the most part. Right; I'm actually not a proponent of going back to the "anything can happen" atmosphere of the Attitude Era because, by its very nature, its shelf life is limited. You can only shock your audience so much before they demand it every week and you simply have no more interesting swerves or surprises to give them. However, yes, it comes down to actually having things happen; having storylines and characters progress, evolve, even just minor things that at least get you thinking "Ok, that was worth watching." Mainstream US pro wrestling has never really adjusted to the post-Attitude Era reality of not having two huge companies to play off one another and having to put on interesting wrestling shows without being able to rely on swerves, ultraviolence, or sex. Honestly, I think that just committing to stories having consequences to angles will be the big change that helps. Vince McMahon (and Kevin Dunn, to ride the bandwagon) is from the era where TV shows were as continuity-free as possible, and you had to keep everything as recent as possible. That's not the TV market today, and it's most definitely not the digital streaming market. The WWE Network has to look at what has made shows successful on Netflix: continuity. Incentive to catch every single episode and every single segment, because it will matter. WWE needs to make it worthwhile to watch through every PPV from the past few years. They need to make the characterization and angle fallout to flow naturally. Even if it's something as simple as Big E turning heel in three months but not partnering with Rusev, WWE needs to abandon the idea that old events stop mattering after a few months - because when you are trying to sell your entire library of big events, you need to sell us on getting something more out of seeing every one.

What I don't understand is why Vince hasn't been given the boot by the other chairmen. An actual vote of no confidence because he's sinking the company. Everyone is always so busy kissing his ass for past accomplishments that he gets a free pass for present transgressions. I'm pretty sure the McMahon family owns the majority if not all the controlling shares and even if there was pressure from the stock market to have Vince step down, he'll just go private again and still be in power. Just putting this out there, but I'm not sure that'd be all that bad. We're all pretty harsh towards Vince and his unstable decisions (rightfully so, mind you), but what if being public and having people to answer to is part of the problem? Maybe Vince is just so wrapped up in making money and pleasing the shareholders/advertisers/network execs that he just doesn't know what to do when it comes to actually booking a show. Would going private solve that? Probably not. But it might be part of the problem.

A good start for me would be to stop with the constant f***ing replays. I don't need to see what happened in the opening segment 430 times throughout the show. I don't need "moments ago's" after every commercial break. What that does is give the feeling that it's not a big deal if you miss something, because we've been trained to know that if it was even remotely important, it will be shoved down our throats throughout the show until we're sick of seeing it.
I absolutely despise the habit they've gotten in over the last few years of having guys, during in-ring promos, throw to the titantron for replays, because they don't trust them to be able to verbalize it effectively.
The 3 hour Raw's have just made it worse. They've increased them even more to help fill time so they don't have to put in anymore effort towards anyone or anything then usual.
My point is basically this. There were times (yes, even when I had the internet and youtube and could look it up) that I felt like I could NOT miss anything. Now, I'll wonder in 45 minutes into the show with no fear of that, because I know I'll be seeing it all again several times before the 3 hours are up. They can't use that 3 hours worth shit.
